I'm making potato salad for tomorrow.
Do I need to boil the cubes or boil the whole potatos to keep them from turning to mush?

Can you give me your recipe?

Clean the potatoes with a veggie brush. Boil them whole and unpeeled. Let them cool then peel them and get them ready for the salad.

Peel and Boil Whole. Red potatoes work best it is also better to do it a day ahead. Boil the potatoes today. Cube them tomorrow. Also, the longer the potatoes sit in the dressing the better it will taste. Next time make it a couple days ahead. Potatoes one day. Salad the next and serve on the third.

8 potatoes
1/2 bottle italian dressing
salt
pepper
Boil potatoes. Refrigerate. Cube.
Pour dressing on potatoes along with salt and pepper to taste.

Mix 1 to 1 1/2 cup lowfat mayo, 1/3 cup apple cider vinegar.
Chop 2 hard boiled eggs, 1 cup onion and 1 cup bell pepper and mix into mayo. Mix mayo/veggies gently into cubed potatoes. Adjust seasoning (salt-pepper) and let sit for several hours

Hey, i don't boil them at all. I cube them and steam them, that way they don't get all mushy, and they look prettier. My recipe is:
steam the # of potatoes you need to feed all your folks, then salt them and let them cool. Next you put them in a bowl and add miracle whip(amount varies depending on how moist you like your potato salad), 1 tsp French's mustard, 2tbsp pickle relish (dill), then 1 teaspoon of that red chili sauce that you see in Mexican and Chinese restaurants (the label says Sriracha and has a picture of a rooster on it), then about 4 hard boiled eggs cut up, (more or less depending on how many you are cooking for). 1 can whole black olives, and 3 sliced green onions (really thinly sliced for the white parts).toss in a large bowl, and salt to taste.
I used to make potato salad a lot when i first got married, and i almost never spiced it up, I never got one compliment on it. Now, when i take it to a family thing, everyone asks me for the recipe, they absolutely love it! I was surprised because I thought that a lot of people would be bothered by the chili sauce, but it was just the right amount of heat! I know how strange it sounds, but you should try it sometime, you will love it! I promise.

Cook whole then cut into cubes. For a different type of potato salad you can try this. I always get a lot of compliments on it because it is unique and different.

5-6 red potatos (leave skin on)
1 yellow pepper chopped
1/2 red onion diced
2 hard boiled eggs chopped
1 cup mayo
2 tsp curry powder
1 tsp turmeric
salt to taste

Well, if there's a faster way to do things, I'll find it. For potato salad, I cut the potato in about 4 or 5 pieces and boil them. When they're done, I mash them a little bit with a masher (but don't make mashed potatoes) and set to cool. It's so much faster than cutting them up into little pieces. When cool, I add my salad dressing and done!

potatoes for potato salas should be boiled whole, then peeled and cut into cubes. mt mother hada really good recipe and i will pass it along to you it goes like this -4-6 mrdium potstoed bioled, peeled and cut into cuber 8 hsrd boiled eggs peeled and chopped.3tbsp. sweet relish, dill relish will work depending on yourtaste, one&onehalf cupa of miracle whip or mayonnaise depending chopped celery, chopped onion about one half of a medium onion depending on taste if you like a lot of onion. you can use either yellow, white or red onions, when you add the miracle whip or mayo, be sure to add salt and pepper at the same time.then stir in the rest, be sure to refrigerate as soon as possible as potato salad is a dish thth that improves the longas it chills, remember not to leave it off refrigeration as it will spoil very easily. i hope this has bee some help i used to work in a restaurant kitchen and we made this recipe five gallon at at time,

I made potatoe salad years ago and found the best way was cutting the potatoes in cubes.

Cube the potatoes first, they cook faster..
This is a great recipe that we use in the deli I managed for several years..
Use washed, cubed, red potatoes with the skins left on.
when cooled, add equal parts of sour cream and mayo, (more for creamier and less for drier potatoe salad, depending on your family preference) dill relish to taste, salt and pepper to taste. chill and serve..
