The dog could have mange...or if she is scratching her ears, she could have ear mites. You should probably take her to the vet just to be sure. Good Luck and I hope she gets better soon!

Most likely it's an allergic reaction to the food that you're feeding. Dogs can have severe and sudden reactions to corn and other things in processed dog foods. You really need to consult with a qualified veterinarian who may be able to tell you more with a brief examination. Do a search on the net for high quality, human grade foods that have few grains. Pick one that uses a meat that isn't in the dog food that you're currently feeding so that you can eliminate that meat as a possibility. Dogs can also have inhalent and contact allergies - the same as we can. Get her checked out and your stress level will decrease and you'll have more facts to work with.

Could be any number of things. First thing to do would be take the dog to the vet to determine the cause of the itching. If it is allergies look at what you are feeding her. Does her food have corn, wheat and by products on the ingredients list? If so you need to feed a better quality food. Corn and wheat can trigger allergies (itching) and by products can contain cancerous tissue. California Natural, Solid Gold, Innova and Merrick are some of the best brands out there.

Could be allergies, could be thyroid, could be psoriasis. Has she been out in the sun? She may have sunburn. There are many reasons why she can be scratching. Only her vet can properly diagnose her condition. In the meantime, pick up some oatmeal shampoo & conditioner and give her a bath with it. That should ease some of the itching.

It could be mange or some other skin condition. There is a product at the store for "hot spots" for dogs. Try that, if the condition still exists then take your dog to the vet before she gets worse and becomes more uncomfortable.

Allergies could be the cause. High IgE levels in people mean that the person has allergies. Dogs have been tested and found to have high IgE levels after vaccinations. Has this dog been vaccinated lately?

try changing the food to a lamb and rice. Also, try bathing the dog and then rinse with a mxture of lotion and water to help with the dry skin. It could also be mange, do you see patches of fur that show the skin underneath?? good luck.

Could just be dry skin. Avoid giving it any salty foods/treats. You can give her a teaspoon of canola oil daily to help produce natural oils. I had the same problem with my pup and it seemed to help

Could be dry skin or a skin disorder or you may have to change her diet. Dogs are like people, every so often their metabolism changes, so they also need a lifestyle change.
