It's okay to be thick. So am I. Find clothes that complement your looks. Don't wear clothes with vertical or horizontal lines. They make you look bigger than you are. Black clothes make you look thinner. White clothes make you look larger. Wear some jewelry, but not so much it looks like you're trying to cover up something, and remember: you will gain more confidence when you stop caring what other people think. There's an old saying I think you may like. "At age 20, you care what people think. At age 40 you don't care what people think, and at age 60, you realize that people were never thinking of you at all."

When you shop do you try the clothes on? That helps give you an idea what looks good on you before you take it home. I am thick black woman ( 27) too but as I got older I figured out which parts of me I want to accentuate. If I know have nice legs, I will focus on it. A nice cute skirt with some nice sandals, whatever. A nice booty, I focus on it. Always in a classy way- if you go hootchie you won't feel confident either, just a little self conscious. I am concerned you may not be happy with your overall appearance if you do not feel confident. Clothes do not give you confidence. It 's within you. Yes, you may have some flaws but focus on the positive and put your best foot forward. You know how much some black men (some other races too) love a thick black woman!

Wear different clothes. It's a lot more easy to be confident when you're wearing clothes that actually fit and flatter your body rather than flaunt the fat parts and accentuate the rolls (and no, I'm not skinny, I'm also a thick girl).

I don't think it's a problem with the clothes. Hold your head up and know that you are a beautiful woman. There are plenty of great men who like a thick woman and will treat them right. Let your confidence shine through and men will be attracted to that.

If the clothes you usually buy don't' fit, or make you feel confident, then dispose of them, and get some new clothes- perhaps all a different size than you've been wearing.

I think you used the question mark wrong. If you have problems with your clothes then next time you go to the store take someone that is close to you and ask their opinion about the clothing you choose. If that deosn't help and you think they will be partial and not hurt your feelings ask a sales lady to help you pick out something that works for your body.

first of al you can lok like J-lo, if you dont have cofidence within yourself than you will never ever feel confident in anything you wear or do. It comes from within. The ugliest women with the worst figure can walk down the street and put a beautiful woman to shame if she has the confidence within.

What do you mean by thick? thick usually means a little dumb. like thick headed, are you talking fat here? and are afraid to use the word fat?
if you are fat and don't like the way you look in clothes, my advice would be to control your eating habits and get a little thinner. if you don't like yourself , you can't have confidence. if you are fat now, it will only carry over into your adult life where you will truly wish you had of controlled your eating habits as a child. good luck.
