Unfortunately, there are no online medical schools (definitely no schools that offer MD degrees). Being a medical school student is more work than a full-time job so there just isn't enough time to have any other career. As far as affordable schools go, your state school will probably be the cheapest. There are other schools that you might want to consider: osteopathic schools, dental schools, physical therapy schools, optometry schools and other degrees (nursing, physician's assistant) that pay very well, allow you to be involved in health care and that don't require as long a commitment. The minimum time commitment for being a physician is 4 years of medical school (or 3, but that's in only a few very select programs), plus at least another 3 years of residency.
Good luck in whatever you decide to do!
