how much do you weight to start with?

Also, here's the plain and simple truth that no diet pill or exercise plan or whatever can avoid:

The law of thermodynamics says that if you want to want to loose weight, calories out must be greater than calories in. This means that you will need to burn more calories then you consume in any given day.

Drink lots of water. This will help flush all the bad stuff out of your system. Try to stay away from carbs unless you're going to burn them off right away. (carbs at night = fat the next morning)

You can also try to eat smaller meals throughout the day. If you normally consume 1500 calories per day and eat 3 meals (500 calories each), switch to 5 meals at 300 calories each. Then cut one out.

If you get hungry with the smaller meals, have a small snack (like a piece of fruit) about 20-30 minutes before your meal, this will help your stomach to tell your brain you're full.

ALSO as a general healthy guidline, you should NEVER try to loose more than 2% of your weight in any given week.
(i.e. 100lbs = max 2lbs per week, 150lbs = max 3 lbs per week) Most weight loss experts will tell you to aim for a gradual loss of 0.5% (for the people down around 100 lbs) of your body weight per week up to 2% (for the people that are very overweight).

That's actually pretty easy. But the most important thing is to lose the fat not the water and muscle. So eat about 5 times per day. Having 15 gms protein, 40 carbs, and below 6 gms of fat. Do cardio and some weights so as not to lose muscle and increase your metabolism. If you follow this religiously you will healthily lose 5 lbs.

The following healthy living recommendations will help you if you’re trying to lose weight, tone up your muscles, have aspirations of building lean muscle mass, are attempting to get a wash board stomach, or just want to feel better:

*1) Burn more calories then you're consuming everyday and measure your results using the following formula: Calories Consumed minus Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) minus Physical Activity. Get a fitness calculator that you can put on your cell phone and computer. This will allow you to easily calculate this formula, log your daily calorie consumption, and register your physical activities.

*2) Eat natural and organic foods found on earth versus something created by a corporation to make money. Eat meals in small portions throughout the day and take a good multi-vitamin supplement.

Avoid “High Glycemic Load Carbs” (sugar, pastries, desserts, refined starches such as breads, pasta, refined grains like white rice; high starch vegetables such as white potatoes) and drink lots of water.

Do not try fad diets or diet pills. Here is an excellent food pyramid that anyone can follow: http://www.rayandterry.com/html/images/PyramidLRG.gif?osCsid=26a424be471d1337e7c2f105d5c64d9d

*3) Exercise on most days by doing cardiovascular training and/or resistance training activities.

Read a book or find a certified trainer to make sure your doing all resistance training exercises correctly. A great book to buy that teaches you the resistance training basics is “Weight Training for Dummies”. A superb magazine to buy with excellent resistance training routines that will not get you bored is "Muscle and Fitness". Signup for the free newsletter.

A good book to buy that teaches you the cardiovascular training basics is “Fitness for Dummies”.

*4) Get plenty of sleep. Sleep experts say most adults need between seven and nine hours of sleep each night for optimum performance, health, and safety.

*5) Educate yourself continually on health issues and make a life long commitment to good health. A great free publication is “Dietary Guidelines for Americans 2005”. A superb book to read is “You The Owner’s Manual”. An excellent periodic publication is the “Nutrition Action Health Letter”. A reputable test you can take to measure your biological age is at http://realage.com

Look at all areas where you can enhance your health. For example, make improvements in the quality of the air you breathe. Review outdoor air quality forecasts where you live and get an indoor air purifier. Email me if you want a good indoor air purifier recommendation and if you have other questions.

The only way you can achieve this is by eating absolutely NOTHING.

It's simple math. 3500 calories = 1 pound. So 5lbs = 17,500 cal, or 1750 calories a day. Since you're a woman, I suspect this is your average calorie intake. If you eat nothing, at all for 10 days, you should be able to do it. But I dont' recommend it!

I drink vinegar mixed with water, equal parts 3 times a day, it flushes and aids in colon cleansing. Drink only clear liquids for 5 days including the vinegar and water, use apple cider vinegar. And if you dont like the vinegar, try cucumbers soaked in vinegar and water, sugar, pepper. It works for me whenever I need to lose quick weight.

Cut out the sugar, and run (not walk or jog, but run) for 5 to 10 miles a day. Stay hydrated, and you'll burn off fat quickly! If you don't have much muscle mass though, maybe exercise isn't the best idea, because muscle does weigh more than fat (FYI).

I would agree that diet and exercises is the only way but watch cutting your salt intake too much if you will be exercising outdoors in the heat you need salt in you're diet... don't add salt the average diet has too much salt for a non exercising person but should be about right for someone who is active
