If you use the bible to fill in the gaps of science, and science to fill in the gaps in the bible, we can all live harmoniously in one great I.D. world.

The debate is over, both sides emerge victorious. Science and Religion embrace as equals.

How can anyone have a problem with that?

How can I not believe in Intelligent Design? Real easy. See? I'm doing it right now. The bible doesn't fill in the gaps in science, nor the other way around. The bible was written because at the time, people could not understand how everything came to be. Hence the creation of religion. Now that we have science to disprove religions, I find no point in believing in something that isn't true.

I dont believe in God, there is my problem. And ur relying on one to fill in the gaps of the other. Science has gaps because we havent found all the links yet, but odds r we will then there will b no gaps in science. Religion has gaps because its crock!

The problem is the gaps in the bible are completely unfillable by any scientific knowledge....the bible is fairie tales, and you're asking science to back up intelligent design? On what basis? The two are completely uncompatable since intelligent design deals with parables and mythology.

I think the problem is that not everyone believes certain gaps should be filled in with the other side's viewpoint. And it's that disagreement that prevents the scenario you're talking about.

God as polyfilla (filling compound) for gaps...the trouble with pseudoscience like ID is that it is just wishful thinking on the part of Creationists.

There are no gaps to fill, they are in unison. We must take the time to realize this.

As a Baha'i, I believe science will one day prove the existance of God, but I don't think we are quite there yet...

Best wishes.
