Most of the time, the main reason for becoming tired suddenly is caused by what we eat. For example, Eating Carbohydrates will make you tired, especially if you eat more then you should. Also, if you drink sugar drinks like a coke or Dr. Pepper which is my favorite soft drink, there are two agents that can cause you to become tired.

The sugar in a drink will speed you up 100 miles an hour and the caffeine in the soda will boost the rest of what did not get the boost from the sugar. About 45 min to an hour after you have had a soft-drink, the effects Begin to wear off and therefore, it will bring you down.

One important thing to remember is that the boost of energy that you get from drinking a soda will also allow you to come crashing down in the same way. Some people such as myself, can drink a soda right before going to sleep, however that is rare.

Carbs on the other hand, don't ever give you a boost of energy, if fact, eating the carbs in a bowl of spaghetti, will take you straight to tired or lazy almost immediately. That sucks cause I love carbs.

Just so you know, sugar enters the body as sugar and is then converted into carbs. Remember that carbs are the tiring factor so I recommend for you to stay away form sugar and carbs until you have had time to catch up on your sleep or when you just feel really good about life, otherwise your life will seem like it is in slow motion.

Try changing your diet, however if that will not change how you become tired suddenly, then go see a doctor because its better to be safe then tired

Do you suddenly get tired like an hour after a meal? Sometimes, when we eat a meal that is high in sugar/simple carbs, our blood sugar experiences a peak, we feel fine and then, when the blood sugar falls, we get incredibly tired and even sleepy. (It often happens to me if I eat a giant bowl of pasta with tomato sauce and nothing else)
The key is to eat some protein and complex carbs, so your blood sugar will not oscillate too much.

Then again, if you experience this often, please go see a doctor. He/She can run some tests and give you a proper diagnosis.

accumulation of unhealthy diet over the years.
use of caffiene over the years..
depletion of nutrients. Take a sufficient multi-vitamin from your local vitamin store or vitaminshoppe.com

Your normal doctor won't be able to detect changes in your thyroid. See an Alternative Doctor. They can do blood work (expensive though) to determine if you have thyriod problems.

You probably don't have mono. You would have flu like symptoms with it.

You probably don't have low blood sugar. You would know it, like you wouldn't be able to stand up and you would feel weird and dizzy.

You might be over fatigued at work or home.

Someone told me that fatigue can set in after eating stuff filled with sugar that gives you quick energy but then you get real tired. It's good to have a balanced diet.
