okay kinda odd question, but like when my GF hugs me from behind, I don't exacly know where I should put my hands, They feel weird just dangling there so sometimes I put them on her hands. Is there anything else? (usually she is just doing it in a non sexual way)

Hold her hands I totally know what you mean I love being hugged from behind from my bf. I just tilt my head back on his shoulder and hold onto his hands.

That's exactly what I do. bring my hands up onto her hands and make the hug even tighter. Sounds like you're hugging yourself but she gets the idea.
It's all about the contact.

you're doing fine when you put them on her hands. if you can, reach them around and hold her elbows. this will usually make her feel like you're hugging her back
