It seems like everytime I eat asparagus I have this really strong smell to my urine. I'm just curious if anyone else have had this before?

From what I've heard, half the population gets stinky urine after eating asparagus and the other half doesn't. It's genetic, like being able to curl up your tongue - some people can and some can't. All three of us in my family have the "stinky" genetic predisposition. Must be something about the way our digestive systems process vegetables.

Yes asparagus is one food that causes your urine to have a strong odor. I have had this happen also, you are not alone!!

asparagus has aspartic acid in it which causes the pungent smell once your body has processed the asparagus

YOu are what you eat. DIffernt food effect your body in different ways. Depending on your body chemistry. If it bothers you don't eat it.

drinking lots of water will help in the odour of your urine no matter what you eat
