Put a picture of someone whose figure you admire on the fridge, so that everytime you go to it, you will think, do I really need that, or you will choose something healthy. Start excercising, you will have more energy than you will know what to do with. Do crunches while you watch TV, you will be amazed at how many you can do right off the bat. Another good thing is to join Weight Watchers, my friend got down to her goal weight and has kept it off for over a year!
Here's a kick in the butt to get ya started! *******J/K Go for it!!!

I was the same way... how i got motivated is i bought a pair of pants (size 8) and a medium shirt and put it in a place that i spend most of my time. so that it can be a reminder. I have reciently tried them on and i can pull them up but i cant button them up yet, by the way i used to be a size 16..also try tae bo it is so much fun not like all those other exercise videos, and it burns 400-600 calories

Find a workout buddy, someone persistent who won't let you slide. Sign up for a class at a community college. If you are held accountable for being there, you're more likely to do it. Finally, and most importantly, do something fun.
To keep yourself motivated, as you lose weight, throw out the baggy clothes and buy new ones. I know this can be expensive, but it doesn't have to be... just get a couple of outfits.
e-mail me if you want a cyber workout buddy.

You should get an evaluation first, go to a doctor and get tests done to see if you are healthy enough to begin exercising. If you can afford a personal trainer, then thats great. They are great motivators and will keep on you to continue and they will remind you why you are working out in the first place. Take a picture of yourself, pin it up in your room, and take "after" pictures one month of exercise, then two months, three.......and so on.

realise the truth that if you set fair goals on diet and exercise and chart your results, you will see and feel an improvement. realise how dangerous it is to be overweight.
your mental attitude will also change the healthier you get.
Have a picture near your bed to motivate you..of you or someone of ideal fitness.
make a scrap book by taking a photo of yourself every week and putting it in the book. Seeing results is what I consider to be an important factor in 'momentum.'
realise its always hardest at first. get the support of your friends and family to assist you.

My opinion is go to the gym with a buddy. I did this when I first started going to the gym 3 years ago and to this day, though we no longer go together, have been going since. As soon as you see results it motivates you more to go and work out harder. At first it will be hard but trust me it will be well worth it.

"Action seems to follow feeling, but in fact, action and feeling go together. By regulating the action, which is under the direct control of the will, you can regulate the feeling." -William James.
In other words, just walk! Get up and get out of the house, and do "left foot, right foot" until you feel better.

Start a regular workout regimen. It becomes very addicting very quickly.
Also, find a workout partner. Especially one that needs encouragement like you.
You can do it!
