Women deserve equality, not hiding their breasts because some Puritan prude didn't like breasts 200 years ago. It is time for America and Americans to grow up, and let women relax and cool off on those hot days when extra clothes are uncomfortable.

Actually at a college in my area a student attended classes every day completely naked. He did it as a nonviolent protest. No one ever complained, and other students did not seem to be bothered by it. I'm sure there was some nervous giggling at first, but he did it for a whole year. It did not cause any traffic jams or accidents from female drivers.

It's an interesting point you bring up, because I'm not sure it would have been allowed if a woman had done it.

Personally I don't care if some women chose to show their breasts or not. I'm not a nudist nor would I want my girlfriend to be one but this is a personal choice that does not directly hurt anyone. It may challenge ones ethos or incite some that are not in control of themselves, but that's their issues. Frankly after seeing someone of the opposite sex nude long enough it ceases to be a big deal. But if you really think about it you can practically dress all but nude with tongs and ultra thin bathing suit tops that only cover the nipple. Some people even expose themselves only wearing plastic. I have seen this in my home town and nobody got arrested. I have also heard of a group of girls riding nude to campus and nothing happened. I'm sure this has to do more with where you are living but in general things are pretty relaxed and will probably become more so in time to come,,, that’s unless Osama has his way with America.

I lived in Germany for three years, serving in the Army. Over there, they are quite liberal in their views about female breast exposure. They do have limits with that, though. Women are not seen walking down the street or grocery shopping with their tops off. At the beach, in a sauna, in their home or back yard, etc., many will shed their tops and it's fine.

Unfortunately, I also noticed that the women who flaunted them, were also the ones who were most vocal in their displeasure of being looked upon by a guy. (Face it guys, we just can't win.)

Of course, Germany is also a virtually atheistic country. The vast majority of churches are lightly attended, and so they don't have the same moral compass we have by which to guide them.

In this culture, nudity is linked with sexuality. Simple as that. If we all we're nudists, we'd get used to it pretty quick (and quite frankly, most people look better with their clothes on!) A culture without a nudity taboo is no better or worse than a culture with one, they're just different.

Of course, depending on your local laws, you might be able to get away with a couple of bandaids.... Either that or invest in a privacy fence.
