No one wants to leave their families. The fear of the unknown. No one really knows what to expect and what will happen right away when they get there. It is a normal fear. Are you not christian??? Arn't you afraid? Are you atheist? If you are, arn't you afraid you could have been wrong all these years? What will God say to you when you get there? Are you Muslim? What a shock when you find out they are fresh out of virgins!

Forever is a scary word in some people's mind. They don't want to spend ANYWHERE in forever; even if it is paradise. I mean, time never ending could be scary. Always a never day; a movie that never ends. That can be intimidating. But time isn't the same in Heaven, or so the church tells us. And it wouldn't seem like forever.

Also, not all Christians go to Heaven. You don't get a ticket to paradise just because you're a Christian. You have to live a good life to get to Heaven.

And people are also scared to die because they don't know where they'll end up. Some may go to Hell. Some may go to Heaven. But no one except saints go to Heaven straight away without a stop at Purgatory.

So, people shouldn't be afraid to die. Lord of the Rings movies taught me that. Listen to the way the elves discribe the West. Where do you think the West is?????? Ponder that. :)

Even though we are Christians we are also human. Fearing dying and the human instinct to stay alive are one in the same. In other words it's normal. Even those who say they are not afraid of dying are afraid of dying to a certain extent whether or not they admit it. For example, if they were walking across the road and a car came down the road at 60 mph they would suddenly become very afraid (Adrenalin) and try to jump out of the way of the oncoming car. It's only human instinct and normal and nothing to be ashamed of whether we are Christian or otherwise.

Not all Christians go to heaven because not all of them live like they should, some of them play the act when they're in the church then when they get home or in the streets it's a different story. And I think they just are afraid of Not living rather than dying............does that make sense?

Well I am not afraid of dying as I am assured that I will be joining my Creator God in heaven. Romans 8:1 tells me there is no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus.
However, what do the Rcs have to look forward to? Years and Years in torment in purgatory, and not knowing if countless millions of pounds paid to their priests will get them out. AND THAT IS FOR THE GOOD RCS! So If I were a RC I would be VERY afraid of dying!
True Bible Believing Born Again Christians will not be afraid as we know the truth of the Scriptures, and we know that we have the guarantee of the Holy Spirit of God on our lives and we can know for certainty that we are saved.

Well, part is because God wired us to be afraid of dying. And part is because we are of sin and of the world and have the same fears as any other humans. And part is because we don't always think clearly.

A combination of those. Do I fear death? I say I don't, but sometimes I fear death and fear other things as well. I'm still a Christian and I'm still saved and I should get better.

And know what? Sometimes I lie and cheat and swear and a few other things I'm not so proud of either. Boy do I need a Saviour!

I am a Christian and I am positive that I will go to Heaven, but at the same time I do not want to leave this world just because of my family. My grandparents just died recently and I think of how hard that was on my family, and I know it would be just as hard if I died, so I just hate it for them. I also hate it because they are not saved and I would not be able to talk to them anymore to explain to them how important it is. I know that God has everything under control though and I can't wait to get to Heaven!

Everyone fears the unknown, you just have to trust and have faith.
It's so bad on earth right now I prefer the other side, can't be this bad.
As long as it's heavan. A goal to work for.

I must also add, we are all sinners, ALL, so noone was ever really
perfect and you still worry and have a harder time forgiving yourself.
You never know when you've hurt someone, ever. Or judged harshly.

I think it's either from a lack of faith that they're really going to Heaven, or maybe it isn't the fear of the state of being dead, but the fear of the actual death process. That's what I'm afraid of anyway.

Because of pain. It's just natural. We're scared of the way we die, and if we tell everyone we love them. We also wonder about leaving a legacy. It has barely anything to do with heaven, and honestly, I'm not scared.
