Back in the early 80's the democrats pushed through a bill that destroyed the requirement to PROVE citizenship for voter registration.
Once this requirement was dropped, MANY illegals registered and illegally voted They even use this citizenship document to try to attain a legitamite SS card and
VOILA!
instant citizen!

How do I know?

I was fired from a job registering voters in Sacramento, Ca. Paid by a poitical campaign because I refused to register some guys that openly told me they were not citizens (that is the only way to NOT legally register someone, if they admit they are not a citizen!)

Of course a bnch of LIARS are going to say this is BS, but it isn't.
The campaign was to stop a building going up and it would have blocked the skyline or some crap like that, check it out 1988, early fall or late summer

I wonder how much of California's votes turn on that. I think we need a proof of citizenship requirement to vote, perhaps for all but those below the age of 75, to start, since there is some fear the very elderly may not have access to birth certificates which were not so widely kept at one time. It would be a start.

An amendment to that effect was proposed to the Senate immigration bill, but was tabled by Kennedy and died when the discussion on the Bill ended. Kennedy said it would be hard on elderly citizens. However, my 97 year old grandmother had fists of ID for health care reasons when she died, and I don't think that is a valid concern.

Still, it is of course a crime to vote without being entitled to do so. In Colorado they recently did a test of some voters (in connection with looking at illegal immigrant driving documents) and found illegals had voted. Those names are being referred to the attorney general for prosecution. I strongly suspect that the special session on immigration being called this week in Colorado will end up with a requirement to prove citizenship in order to vote.

I think we should call for an after the fact review of votes in California, as well, and prosecute any voter fraud. Since there have to be addresses for voters, it would be a source of deportability, as well.

I am more lenient than many on the amnesty question once I get border security and enforcement set up, however, on this one I have no leniency at all. If people who are not American citizens are voting illegally, they should be jailed, then deported.

Wow. I was really shocked at all the pro-illegal comments you got in your answers. These people are walnuts! Or maybe they are Mexicans who got government jobs and use them to make illegal decisions like this. Their goal is to gain more influence over American law. They are suceeding.
While I don't believe that this is a Democrat problem, I do believe the Democrats have already been infiltrated by people who are not truely loyal to America and our customs and laws. However, the Republicans are more likely to let Mexicans in because they are pro-rich and the rich are the ones who hire illegals for substandard wages and no benefits. They do that so they don't have to train and pay Americans minimum wage and benefits.
I know what you say is true because it is talked about all the time here in California. They treat this like this is their country and we are the foreigners. The more disloyal Mexicans there are in politics, the more likely we are going to lose this battle. Since I'm white I have to make the dumb donkey disclaimer that no Mexicans were harmed in the writing of this political opinion and I have Mexican AMERICAN friends who came here legally and treat this country like their own because they SHOULD.

A bill got here up earlier the Texas legislature this previous consultation to require a image authorities identity to vote. (presented free by the state) It became blocked by the Dem's who claimed they'd free 7% of their vote casting block. The county treasurer in Harris County (Houston) says there are one of those tries to sign in illegally. He had distinct purposes submitted all with a similar highway deal with. (Sorry, i do not keep in recommendations the numbers in this.)

I'm sure that this is true. The thing is, why shouldn't they vote? They live here and work here. . . they need to have a voice.

Remember, we were all immigrants once. None of us are indigenous to the United States. Hell, I'm even part Native American and I don't feel I have a right to exclude others. . . .

No, I'm not. And we all know who's registering them, don't we Democrats? Just imagine what they'd say if Republicans were doing this...y'know, breaking the law to rig elections.

I guess that first guy was trying to say "Yeah, I know it and I think it's a great idea."

Amazing creatures, aren't they?
