Hi, golfers! Have you ever made a calcutta bet? Me and my friend are gone enter a 2 man best ball golf tournament, with an optional calcutta bet/ players pool. How does this work? Is there a strategy to this. Any feedback is welcomed. Thanks in advance and enjoy your golf game.

I don't know if you event is net or gross. Now with the Calcutta if you think you have a chance to win, the best thing you can do is keep a low profile. Everyone has a chance to bid on teams, the clubs top players tend to bring in the higher prices. So what you want to do is buy your team at the best price and try not to get people attention. When you talk to people just say we just want to finish or trying to embarrass yourselves on the course. Sometimes they may have a long drive contest or putting contest before the bidding starts. Doing real well in those may cause the bidding to go up on your team.
