I would skip the dinner and encourage others to do the same. That is rude. Members of the wedding party should have their meals covered by the grooms parents or the groom if he has no parents alive.

Now, my future inlaws invited their relatives from out of town and my parents would not pay for their meals. That was OK. Just the wedding party should be covered.

I would skip the rehearsal dinner. I cannot imagine anyone being unable to buy a few pizzas and beers for their best friends or the best friends of the happy couple. It is beyond rude to ask people to pay for their own meal. It is crass and boorish.

I would not attend if I had to pay for my own rehearsal dinner. I'm paying for the dress to be in your wedding shouldn't that be enough. OMG.

I would wonder who is being so cheap to not pay for our rehersal dinner at a pizza place? I have always heard the parents of the groom pay for the rehersal dinner.

Umm, sorry but I wouldn't go. That is just outright tacky!
