My Dad was a whistler as long as I can remember. He died when he was 60, but had been whistling all the 19 years I had the honor to know him. (thanks for triggering that memory). I see nothing wrong with it. Whistle along with him, or sing! Enjoy it.

My dad and my grandfather (on mom's side) both do this constantly.
It isn't a sign of a condition... maybe he likes music or is doing it to keep himself entertained or break up the quiet.
I can't see anything that would be a medical problem with this, really. People have habits and his is whistling.
My boss does this too, and he sings... and when my grandpa goes off into a song, it's usually composed of just hum de dum de dum or something like that.
It's nothing to worry about, really though. I find it kind of entertaining.

I don't know about anyone else's dad, I'm a 53 year old mom and I find myself dong the same thing and I dont think I have a medical condition. It's just habit from something you may have heard playing earlier, sometimes it just relieves stress. Haven't you ever listened to a tune and later on caught yourself humming it.... come on don't lie we all do. Now if he starts dancing and running through the house too, then I'd worry.. he's just happy humming along his way,

I do this. I do it just because I'm happy. Or sometimes I get a song in my head and don't want to sing it out loud for all to hear but I don't mind whistling it. My dad does it too. I asked him once he just said he liked the song.

It's just a habit that many people have...seems to be more prevalent as we get older. I find myself whistling more now that I'm in my 40's.

it has nothing to do with being old and is a sign of nothing other than he is keeping his mind occupied, my best friend is 27 and he is constantly either talking to you, singing something or pacing. it may drive you crazy but they have to do something to occupy themselves when nothing is going on or they have much to think about.

I do it... Nothing wrong with it...
Sometimes you get a tune in your head, but you can't emulate it... So it comes out random!!!
