One of two things - 1) It is a form of skin disease or 2) It is a skin irritation.

One of our dog's went through the same thing, and it turned out to be a rare type of skin irritation.

You might want to take the advice of the previous person and take your beloved pet to the VET, you never know if it is serious or not.

It could mean several things. Take the dog to the vet they will do a skin scrapping. If the dog is not on flea treatment and this just started occurring. It could be flea allergies. or Hot spots

There could be a lot of different reasons for that to happen. A trip to the vet is in order. She could have parasites causing her to scratch and remove the hair. Another reason could be mange, which is treatable. Good luck.

It could be a number of things. I can give u a few things that it might be but take her 2 the vet so they can confirm exactly what it is and treat her correctly. 1.)lack of nutrition(ex:fatty acids) in the food she is eating. 2.)allergies(ex:food,fleas) 3.)thyroid issue. 4.)demodex (type of mange)
Good Luck and if she has any of these that I listed she can be treated and be fine. Take her 2 the vet they can help her look and feel better.

It can mean a number of different medical problems, not the least of which is mange. Take the dog to the vet, no one here can provide any realistic advice as to the cause.

such a great number of diverse issues would nicely be causing this. Mange, fleas, skin allergic reactions, nutrients allergic reactions, dermatitis.... My wager will be a nutrients hypersensitive reaction as this coincides with a swap of the nutrients. i'd attempt a grain free nutrients and be conscious if that permits. a visit to the vet will be a strong concept to a minimum of get something that you'll be conscious to ease the itch even as you're trying distinct remedies.

if she is an indoor pup.. and well cared for I can guarentee it isnt mange...
Mange happens with a sever lack of nutrition, and abuse.

It does however sound like either a lack of vitamins as already mentioned, but it could be also...

have you noticed her itching? if she is itching, then she might be allergic to something. Have you changed her food recently? have you started using a new leash or collor... (seems small to us but dogs skin is sensitive.)

I would assume that it is a sign on malnutrition, or simply very old age.

Make sure you are feeding your dog a quality kibble and that he/she is consuming an appropriate amount. Your vet may be able to recommend a supplement to help your pet retain its folicle quality and growth.

she could have mange or another type of skin disease. Take her to the vet right away to have it checked out. Your vet can tell you exactly what it is and how to treat it before it becomes a big problem.

either lack of vitamens or some time of skin problem. my dog gets skin infections/irritations and we need to get special ointment for her sometimes. some dogs are just naturally more prone to it. best thing to do is to get a vet to check it out.
