Well, I think the big flaw in your thinking is that God is "mistreating" some people because they are poor or sick. Don't forget that God's purpose for people isn't that they are "comfortable" or "rich" or even "happy." The terms "blessings" and "stuff - money, status, power, etc." are not interchangeable. What God is interested in is you using your circumstances to build character. People (even Christians) tend to forget that our purpose in life is to prepare for eternity.

God chooses to show us mercy and grace out of His love. He does treat everyone equally - it doesn't matter how "disadvantaged" you might be, or how horribly you chose to live your life, as long as you choose to accept His mercy through Christ, He'll let you into heaven. I think we're in charge of who is born into wealth or good health, and I think Satan also has a hand in it. I think that's why many religions are so intent on helping the poor, because we know that we could do alot to alleviate suffering if we chose to do so. But most people (including myself) living in developed countries are very selfish and so we still have way more problems in this world than we should. Have you been doing all you can to help the poor and sick? Like me, probably not. So I don't think we should be blaming God for everything that's wrong with our world.

No. God god does not HAVE to show mercy and grace to everyone. Yet, he does CHOOSE to because he is God, and he loves each and every one of us enough to do so.
Now as far as U saying that U feel he does not "treat everyone equally". In life God gives and has given us all CHOICES. It is all about what we do with them. It is not that he chooses to make one sick, and the other well. Or one rich and the other poor. It is all about the choices that have been made, not only by you, but also by Ur ancestors, and generations before you.
In the Bible, Deuteronomy 30:19 it says: This day I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live. (New International Version).
This simply states that ur life and destiny is written by choices. But just remember that because of his Mercy and Grace, he will give you the CHOICE to change what has been written.

That reminds me of the guy who crashed a car, and then sent the picture to the manufacturer and asked, "Why did you make a car like this?" They replied. "We built it perfect, but someone else must have crashed it." Sin brought the bad things into the world, not God. If God made sure that everyone is good and kind, and made everyone not know or do evil, then He would be a dictator. God loves everyone, and if anyone asks His forgiveness with a true heart, and asks for Him to come into their life He will do it. There may still be consequences on earth for their actions, but God has a place in heaven for them. God also sees all the pain and suffering in this world. The Bible says "He even sees a little sparrow when it falls, how much more does our Heavenly Father Care about you?" Humans are His special creation. His Children! Right now things are not perfect, but one day they will. We just have to be patient and trust in Him.

No, god is sovereign. He allows some to be born American, some Cuban, some rich, some brown, some poor. But most of what you describe is a result of the fall of man. Once sin gets in the door, it works through the whole house.

Mercy and grace........he shows to everyone who ACCEPTS those gifts. That doesn't necessarily treating everyone equally. He loves us equally, but that doesn't mean we'll all have the same things. Just because a person is rich doesn't mean they're not spiritually equal to someone who doesn't have a cent to their name.

God has nothing to do with that. God is love, and what happens to those people is Satan's doing, not God's.
