If one claimed to be a Mormon but denied all the basic tenets of Mormonism — that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, that the Book of Mormon is true and divinely inspired, that god was once a man who progressed to godhood through keeping the laws and ordinances of the Mormon Church, and that the Mormon Church was divinely established — the Mormon Church would reject such a person’s claim to being a Latter-day Saint. One cannot fairly call oneself a Mormon if one does not believe the fundamental doctrines taught by the Mormon Church. By the same token, if the Mormon Church does not hold to even the basic biblical truths believed by the greater Christian community down through the ages, how can Christians reasonably be expected to accept Mormonism as authentic Christianity?

Mormons have a Jesus that is a brother to Satan. Both have God as their physical father, and the same physical mother. And if that wasn't enough-Mormon men get to become god and have their own world. Their god and his poor wife has a spirit baby for every physical baby born on earth. They really believe in their Jesus, but I don't. If you are a Mormon woman, you have to serve your husband here on earth well. If he is not satisfied with you, when you die you stay in the grave. You can not go to heaven unless he calls you back from the dead. That's why Mormon women are such good wives, they are afraid they will be left in the grave if they don't slave over their husbands. There is much more-but that's enough for me. Any faction of Mormonism is a sick anti-Christ cult. It should be illegal in this country.

edit: in case I was not clear-the mormon god and jesus is not the same as the Christian God and Jesus.

Christians dont believe that Joseph Smith was a prophet or that their is any validity to the the Book of Mormon. The Holy Bible is the word of God and nothing can be added to it or taken away.

According to the Bible, there is only ONE WAY to God the Father and that is Jesus Christ. I won't paste all the text, but read John 3:16, 5:24-30 and 14:6. To be a true Christian, simply by the definition of the word christian means to be Christ-like. You must be a follower of Christ to be a Christian. Not believe in another (john Smith), bot only in Jesus Christ!

Mormons are a christian based religion too. That is like asking "what is the difference between Catholics and Baptists"

They all believe that if you follow the bible and other doctorate that you will get to heaven, they all just believe in different paths.

I think your question is moot since Mormons are Christians. Same as I would call Catholics Christian, and Baptists Christian and any other religion that believes Jesus Christ is the son of God and Savior of the world Christian.

Christins believe in the bible and follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. Mormons believe in the bible and follow the teachings of Jesus Christ, so they are the same. Not all Christian religions believ the same thing, it's okay to have differences.

Christians allow the Holy Spirit to convict and change a Christian...Mormons churches have "RULES" to be a part of their church such as no smoking, premaritail sex, no caffine, no drinking, no tank tops for women. Christians don't put these rules to be a part of the church. Christians don't beleive that their church is the one and only "true church" Mormons are often saying that though. Christians rather say that Jesus is the only way to heaven.
