i dont think its rare..i hadent heard about a lot of stuff untill i got breast cancer.Lymphoma is a form of cancer -- a disease of the body's cells. Normal, healthy cells grow, divide and replace themselves in an orderly manner. When cancer is present, the cells grow abnormally and may continue to grow out of control, forming too much tissue -- a tumor.

Lymphoma encompasses a variety of cancers specific to the lymphatic system. The lymphatic system is an important network of glands and vessels which make up the body's main line of defense against disease (immune system). This network manufactures and circulates lymph throughout the body. Lymph is a clear, watery fluid that contains white blood cells that fight infection and disease called lymphocytes. Along the network are bean-shaped organs called lymph nodes or glands. The nodes are responsible for the manufacture and storage of these infection-fighting cells. Lymph nodes are clustered in the neck, under the arms, in the groin and abdomen and may swell and become tender when the body is fighting infection (such as mono or strep throat).

When lymphoma occurs, some of the cells in the lymphatic system grow abnormally and out of control. Eventually, they may form a tumor which continues to grow as the cancerous cells reproduce. If all the cells are the same, they are called malignant or cancerous, because they will continue to grow and eventually harm the body's systems. Because there is lymph tissue throughout the body, the cancer cells may spread to other organs, or even into the bone marrow.

Lymphoma is a common cancer, and there are two kinds, Hodgkin's (which is one of the best cancers to get as it is very cure able) and non-Hodgkin's or NHL. Luckily for those with either form, chemotherapy and radiation therapy normally work. If they do not there are many other was of treating the cancer, such as a bone marrow or stem cell transplant.
You are right in that it is not a red blood cell cancer like leukemia, but it dose involve the blood a great deal in that the lymph system produces the white blood cells.
Good luck, and make sure you friend dose everything she can and fast, because this cancer will not wait!!!!

I had a cancer scare about 5 years ago. They thought I had lymphoma. It is a cancer of the blood. It is not super-rare. There are different types. Hodgkins and non-Hodgkins. I believe the non-Hodgkins is the worse of the two.

If you run a search online, you can find a chart of survival rates, depending on what stage your friend was diagnosed in (there are four stages). The earlier they can treat it, the better the survival rate will be.

Good luck.

In our life’s we see people go through alot of pain, where they did not seem to really know where there going, so we searched for answers in health, relationships, and long life success. We went to the depth of the earth for cold hard facts. We care for all people and I want them to know the truth. Well all I can say is Kevin Trudeau is right on track with his books. My research does come from years of looking into the health field and I will say there our many others like Kevin Trudeau that have not come out of the closet maybe because of fear? Here are a few websites for you to look at. I will not give the websites out here but what I will do is give the name of the website and you can go to a search engine and find them right on top.

(The homeostasis protocol), (Sam Biser), (Dr Richard Schultz), (sanoviv) (hippocratesinst)

The success stories of these people are just amazing.

I believe one thing!!! All of these masters on health agree on one thing DO NOT CHASE A DISEASE!!! Because you’ll lose like millions have done already (Death). The way to knock out the disease is to give it an environment that it can’t stand to live in, like a fish out of water.
