I had an honest question for the MANY people on here that claim (examples) "god wouldn’t do this", "god loves everyone", "god would do".

Now am I in NO way religious in any sense of the word, but aren't these people assuming that God would do ect. If God is real, and he all powerful, then why should you know the course of his actions, his feelings, and his remorse. I mean he is after all all powerful right, and he can make is own decisions, regardless of what you think.

Anyway that was just a rap from myself. Until next time, if this offended you I have provided a disclaimer

Disclaimer: Please read this at least 4 times, or at least read the entire question ONCE. This question was not meant to offend anyone, this question is for me (a very NON-religious person) tiring to understand another POV (Point of view), if you have a problem with that, please don't answer the question, and go watch Tom & Jerry...Or friends because I equally hate that show.

Sean...that’s really not what I asked.

For example, people on here say...

God loves everyone, even murders, convicts, and serial rapists.

How exactly does that person know that God loves everyone, even murders, convicts, and rapists or are they just giving the own options on who God loves, doesn’t love, ect

Here is another example, someone says "God eats babies", God is completly independant of himslef, so can eat babies, or he cant.

Sorry for the wierd example, but I ran out of ideas.

The thing is you don't know God's actions nor feelings. If God wants to tell us something he will, you just need to open your heart to him.God works in mysterious ways.He can tell you through someone or a dream or prayer or some other random time or place.
God has a purpose for you. He's designed a plan for everyone. No one's plan is the same.Currently,I'm reading on MY purpose.(check the source for book)

Many people who say those things don't really "know" God. I realize you are not a religious person, but I'm going to quote some scripture for you.
The statement that "God is Love" is true, it is found at 1John 4:8. However, the statements that he 'loves everyone no matter what they do' that is a misconception that many people believe because it makes them feel better for the wrong actions that they take. Psalms 11:5 says that 'God hates those who love violence.' That would include anyone who commits violent crimes like you mentioned. 1 Corinthians 6:9,10 and Ephesians 5:3-5 both talk about more behaviors that God hates. However, He will demonstrate love and forgiveness for those that repent, stop doing wrong, and start doing his will.

It is true that God doesn't want anyone to be destoyed, (2 Peter 3:9) however, he expects people to live by his standards and it is love on his part to clean up the earth and get rid of the people who are causing harm.

Excellent point. My wife likes to say God does this/doesn't do this, forgetting that he's a little smarter than her and is constantly making decisions that wouldn't make sense to her. The Bible does give us some insight into how he thinks, but without a doubt if Jesus came to earth today and issued a bunch of statements I'm pretty sure every christian would be disturbed/annoyed/surprised by something he said.

But you're right, human nature does give people this sense that God's on my side/sees things my way.

And I'm by no means immune from falling into the same trap.

HONEST answer, and you did not offend, it's not offensive to ask a decent question.
GOD has told US (Human Being's) some thing's that HE would do IF we do what HE say's to do FIRST.
Those verbal Promise's are in the BIBLE. GOD will uphold HIS end of the deal for SALVATION, if you Believe that HIS SON JESUS, died on the CROSS and was RAISED from the Dead for you.
The BIGGEST verbal Promise is to get your Spiritman RECREATED (get SAVED) by Believing on JESUS as your SAVIOUR, GOD is the ONLY ONE WHO can Recreate you (a Spiritman, living in a Body).
After you accept JESUS and get SAVED, you are now a Child of GOD, and alot of other Promise's open up to you.
There are General Law's in the BIBLE too. GOD tell's everyone bout' these so everyone can get BLESSED and hopefully SAVED.
These General Law's were put into the EARTH befor Mankind was introduced into the EARTH, they cover the Star System too.
"Reaping and Sowing" (law of Karma for Worldly People) operate on Automatic. GOD outline's these Law's in the 10 Commandment's, and told us bout' them so Everybody (LOST and SAVED) can get BLESSED.
There have been alot of People who did not Believe in JESUS, but Read the BIBLE and followed the Guideline's to prosper, and became very wealthy.
GOD want's Everybody in HEAVEN with HIM, the Devil is the REAL ENEMY of ALL HUMAN BEING's.
When JESUS come's back, the First thing HE will do is Lock-Up the Devil and his following Angel's, there will be 1000 year's of PEACE on EARTH after that. Hope this helps.
ANYTHING that GOD did not say as a verbal Promise in the BIBLE, is up to HIM to decide. I call this HIS EXTRA-MERCY when HE decide's to Help some-one (LOST or SAVED) even though they are not answering a Promise, you have to ask HIM why thing's happen.. and the Devil at this time, kills, steals and destroy's anyone he can, when he has the chance. satan hate's all Human Being's (we can get back to HEAVEN, satan cannot) and want's all of us to end up in Hell with him.

I think I understand your question and I will try to answer it. As a Baha'i, I believe that God is unknowable. There really is no way to know what He would specifically want or think about a subject other than the directives He has sent down through his prophets.

One's interpretations of the texts really depends on whether the person doing the interpreting is a "glass half-empty" or "glass half-full" kind of person.

I hope this helps.

Best wishes.

The best answer I could give is that we were given the bible from God so that we can know him. In the bible we are told about him and can only use His word as a guidance as to what he would or would not do. We will never fully understand his ways here on earth, but we do have a guidebook called the bible. Hopefully that helps.

I have asked this before. the answer from anyone that claims to be religious is that you have to believe that God is just always forgiving and loving and always right beside you trying to guide you in the right direction, but does that even answer the question? the truth of it...you are right. how does anyone know what this great almighty being thinks or feels?

I'm not sure what you're asking. Are you asking if we presume to know the will and intent of God? If you are, then most people will tell you they know these things from reading the Bible. Sorry if I misunderstood. I did the best I could.

You are absolutely right!
He knows what we know not.

Those of us that claim we know what He would do or know what He thinks or feels are only fooling ourselves.

The Bible says that God is love, The Bible is God's word, God is perfect so He doesn't lie, so God says that He is love, so He must be right.
