I would suggest adding sugar and see if that helps? My family loves frosted shredded wheat and here is a recipe that would be good for a family gathering maybe and would use up your box if you made up a bunch.
Wheat Nests
1 (12 oz.) chocolate chips
6 large shredded wheat
biscuits
3/4 c. peanut butter
your favorite berries
Melt chocolate and peanut butter. Crumble shredded
wheat. Add to chocolate mixture. Spoon onto wax paper in nest
shape. Add berries to make great presentation.

I like mine with hot milk poured over it to make it go soggy. A fair sprinkling of sugar too. Quite nice after that.
My pleasure.

Nothing is going to make it taste good.
My suggestion is bin it, buy something you like & pit it down to experience.
Life is too short to eat things we don't like just because it is good for you.
