I never thought I'd get tired browsing questions that imply 'my way is the only right way, I assigned myself to save you, even though you may be better than me if i call myself christian long enough and cut and paste the entire bible I'm automatically better than you'!!!!

Yes, you're correct all religions believe theirs is the true one, but only Christians cut and paste text after text after text as if the person they're responding to either has never read it or doesn't own a bible!!!

By the way, I am Christian too. I simply do not take it upon myself to talk down to others who have a difference reference point.

yes I do see that. I'm not a very religious person, but it seems to me that being a true Christian isn't about flaunting, it's about the humblness you feel when you know how God loves you and will accept you. I understand spreading that message but Christians aren't supposed to judge, which means they shouldn't be pointing fingers. I think everyone needs to clean their side of the street before they cross over to my side ...

Hi mini-this is the same never ending question always asked on any religious subject-since they are all based on stories written so long ago-look at the changes in this world in say the last 50yrs-you can't get truth for love nor money about something that happened today unless you were there,it's just another opinion (aS* holes i call them) because we all got one and they're all diferent-Divine was the truth - but look what our opinions did to that truth, every time or any time it is given! Why does' anyone think they alone know the truth and all these people that god created; a whole universe for-we were entrusted with just one planet-that we know of,so far-and look what weve done to that ! were raping the mother earth entrusted to us ? would such wisdom create anything so beautiful as a human can be-if only some were meant to be 'saved' why the rest ? All religions are paving the road to hell with their 'good intentions' and self declared, and exclusive truth-the truth is the truth-it isn't truth because someone said it is ! I'm theist and i want to look after my mom whos' looked after me so diligently and puts' up with me till my father comes home!- either way -we were ALL given a little voice in our phsyche that we are supposed to listen to-to keep us each on our path-there is only one truth but it is a changing concept-like change being the only the only constant thing in life-! enough for now grasshopper i'm sure we'll cross paths again.ktfx

I would sincerely hope that no Christian feels that they are better than anyone else.
I would also hope that any Christian that comes off as arrogant has repented because arrogance and pride go hand in hand.
Now with all that being said I can't fathom why anyone would be surprised that a person confessing a certain belief system thinks it is the right one.
What kind of a person would confess a religion or set of beliefs that they felt were wrong?

"NO"! Religion is what you BELIEVE in or what your parents taught you to BELIEVE in. Respect other people and what they believe in! Know one knows who's religion is rite or wrong. If someone believes that tomato's in your garden can talk and are messengers from G_D; Let them believe it. Be the best person you can be; all religions teach loving kindness, and respect for life, (except Muslims), be tolerant of others and their beliefs don't Hate others for what they believe be your own person be who you are don't try to force what you believe on others. You can't win an argument with a fool. Let them talk all they want too, your religion and beliefs are in your in er most being. Only you can change it; only you, but only if you want too. If you are a Christian be the best Christian you can be, don't try to be what you are not; good deeds and loving kindness is the only currency in heaven. You earn it by the way you live your life. If you try to be like someone
else; who will be like you.

Detest isn't the word that comes to mind, although I do find that kind of attitude about anything to be quite tiresome. This is a form of brainwashing, and also a form of licensed conceit, and most of humanity seems to take great delight in taking some sort of side or another and decrying all others as infidels if others don't agree. I believe it is one of the major ills of humanity.

As to your main question... IMMEASURABLY! As I've said before, organized religion needs to take a hike. You well know that most of the ills in this world stem from this attachment to the dogmatic pontifications of "the elders." We need to be more modest in our grouping behaviors toward canonized thought & spiritual matters. If God knows our hearts, that should be enough. Theocracies around the world need to be humbled and brought to "lower (more manageable) ground." We can find religious freedom through simple theonomization which is not "power driven."

Makes you wonder what bible these people are reading... And which Christ they are following.. You know, the guy who said you should not judge people. I totally agree with you. Some self-so-called Christians should read more the New Testament and TRULY LEARN from what Jesus tried to teach: to be good & charitable, to be TOLERANT, to not cast the first stone...
My oh my, they live in a glass house indeed...

Mini - I can understand and appreciate your position. However, I wish to remind you that it is ANY RELIGEON - not just Christianity - that professes to be the only true religeon. A hallmark of all religeons is FAITH is something unknown and unsubstantiated, and the belief that the God/Gods is/are inerrant and all knowing.
Look at "Sean's" response - "its says its true in the Bible, so it is true." Ah yes, once again the infallibility test rears its head....

If that's the case then you would have to include yourself because from your statement you have a certain belief, you would also have to include the atheists, heathens, non-believers of all kind!...why?...because yourself as well as the christians that you are accusing of being arrogant, have strong beliefs as well!.... christians feel the same about those who accuse them of being arrogant because they speak the Word of God and atheists & heathens HATE IT!........Call it arrogance or whatever you want to call it but GOD commisioned believers to share His Word...to you & your carnal perception it may seem arrogant but to GOD it's speaking the Truth !....and His Word is what counts!.......this is a religious/spiritual site so expect religious/spiritual answers!.......ps there are other sites to choose from since you have a very bad opinion about christians and dislike what they stand for!.........Fair Enough!

1Tm:6:1: Let as many servants as are under the yoke count their own masters worthy of all honour, that the name of God and his doctrine be not blasphemed.
1Tm:6:2: And they that have believing masters, let them not despise them, because they are brethren; but rather do them service, because they are faithful and beloved, partakers of the benefit. These things teach and exhort.
1Tm:6:3: If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;
1Tm:6:4: He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,
1Tm:6:5: Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.
1Tm:6:6: But godliness with contentment is great gain.
1Tm:6:7: For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.
1Tm:6:8: And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.
1Tm:6:9: But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.
1Tm:6:10: For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
