Plants and animals, etc, etc, and God saw that these were good. Why is it then that governments can and do question Gods word, and make certain plants illegal, such as cannabis, and other God made plants ? Are politicians saying that they know better than God ?

Government is bad anyway... c#cksckers! They don't do anything according to God anymore.... and yes they think they know better than God. Humans are the only species that has a Govt to basically protect the stupid. They control where animals live so noone gets hurt.. and decide what drugs are used by who... etc..etc..
I say let the dumb asses kill themselves or get killed from thier stupidity or not taking appropriate measures to protect themselves...don't waste time making a bunch of stupid laws that should be common sense anyway... and eventually we will weed out the weak species.
Besides, cannabis never killed nobody anyway.

That is a good question. The reason people take these drugs is too abuse their bodies. Remember when God made man he put him in charge of everything. The problem with takking drugs like cannabis and other such drugs is that eventually man starts to rely on the plant so it reverses. The plant is now in control instead of man. I know that cannabis isn't surpossed to be addictive but I've seen plenty of people who are screwed up with taking it.
Why is kit wrong when the Lord God made it? Simple read Genesis chapter 3. When man sinned the whole earth was cursed. That would include many plants. Also answers why their things like earthquakes and stuff. Isn't God's fault but man's.

No, I don't think politicians are saying they know better than G-d. I think they're saying that certain plants, etc. are made to be used in certain ways, and plants like Cannabis weren't made to be used in the way that people use it. In addition, maybe the plants were put on this Earth to tempt us into sinning. So the whole point of the plant is fulfilled by it being made illegal. Just a thought...

Oh, and lightninginnovations, this isn't the forum for this, and you can contact me directly at amimynation@yahoo.com if you'd like to continue this, but if you read Chapter 2, you'll see that you're point makes absoulutely no sense. Nowhere in Chapter 2 is there a re-telling of creation. Also, as a religious Jew, I have the Bible from its source. No revisions, nothing lost in translation, just the same Bible that Maimonidies had 1,000 years ago, that the Talmudic scholars had 2,000 years ago, and that the Jews had 3,000 years ago. Anyway, please e-mail me, I'd really be interested in hearing some of these contradictions, as I haven't seen any in my constant study of the Bible.

Well, interestingly enough, check you version of the Bible.

Bible accounts vary widely on the creation of the world. Even a single Bible has two seperate accounts within the book of Genesis. Two points of view, from two different authors, list the creation of the world in different order. The order of creation is Genesis chapter 1 is different from the order of creation listed in Chapter 2 of the same book. This is only the first of thousands upon thousands of contradictions within a single version of the Bible. Now consider the thousands of translations and revisions to the Bible over the last 2000 years (for the penetetauch, the last 5000 years).

So many differences within this Holy Work lend the belief that while Christians hold it as the Word of God and infalliable, it is very much flawed and unreliable. Maybe politicians are simply acting upon the logic that a flawed book provides no true guidance in any situation that can be trusted, and as such do not follow it.

Also likely is that politicians don't profit off pot when it is legal, only when it is illegal.

Good question, but even the book of Genesis was written by a man, and if it was known in those days what plants like cannabis it would have been used for man to profit from others, but what you must also remember that cannabis, and some other plants do have other purposes other than being used as it is today. The politicians make the law to try and protect people being taken for mug's by the cons that sell drugs for large amounts of money to those who haven't got the guts to face life with out it

Seriously, this is a stupid question! First of all, "In the beginning" there was no need for government. Everything was good and nothing would be able to hurt you in any way. After sin entered the world EVERYTHING changed. God gives us all the instruction we need in the Bible. Governments are needed nowadays to govern all kinds of things BECAUSE there is evil in this world. Governments need to govern speeding, murdering and stealing for obvious reasons. So too they need to govern certain plants that may alter personalities and attitudes because of the potential actions that the "partaker" may exhibit which can affect other people. Just as you probably don't want someone driving a car into your house for whatever reason I don't want someone who has been influenced by certain plants to "accidentally" drive into my house or drive over my sons, etc.

By the way, if you read the Bible for more than references that will help you feel better about what you do or justify your beliefs, you will find the true answers to everything you need to know. Really!!!!

Left wing politicians definately know better, because they don't believe in a God. In fact, they can't conceive of any force greater than themselves. I am not joking, I am deadly serious.

That's why their left wing agenda doesn't derive from a religious base, it is based on their intellectual arrogance. It is a dry academic agenda, from a top down, bossy, totalitarian elite. There is no faith, no spiritual dimension, basically no hope.
That is why they have no problem with abortion, amongst other things.

It is impossible for man to create fundamental moral values, simply because anything than man creates is imperfect. That is why we have the ten commandments and the teachings of Jesus to guide us.

The EU Fundamental Rights Act is a typical example of mans attempt to create rights, without reference to religion. That is why it is so confused and directionless, because, despite it's name, there is nothing fundamental about them.

I do think that your question is a little contrived though, because you seem to be trying to co-opt God into supporting the legalisation of drugs. Not all things were meant for man, some plants are poisonous?

God made everything good, and then we screwed it up by sinning, which meant all creation was screwed up. So it's really our fault that the government had to ban marijuana - we sinned and screwed up the plants, and we keep sinning, so we don't know how to take things in moderation.

I think you can use the same principle that is applied to drinking - drinking is fine in the Bible, it's drunkeness that is condemned, because it leads to awful things when your inhibitions are lowered or you get addicted to it. I think marijuana use can lead to laziness, because all you want to do is relax and smoke it, and God doesn't want us to sit around all day doing nothing. He also doesn't want us to completely rely on physical means to calm ourselves. We should be relying on Him and getting through stressful situations because we have His joy in our hearts. You might be able to argue that it's good in moderation, but as humans, we rarely do things in moderation.

Most politicians would probably be okay with just allowing it for medicinal use, but there are so many chances for that loophole to be exploited. And since the Bible commands us to follow the laws of the land, until that law gets changed, I'm not going to be smoking pot.

Because htings such as the cannabis are used wrongly, maybe you should be more clear when you ask of such a plant. TO EVERYONE WHO DOESN'T KNOW WHAT A CANNABIS IS IT'S MARIJUANA!!!!! So I think that it's completely fine if people would use it for doing things bad.

i think of we developed from an animal that still spawned the apes. It makes much greater experience than some invisible, all-seeing all-understanding being created us and controls our each and every circulate. to boot, all of us understand for a actuality that the international is older than the bible claims, and that there have been human beings (no longer to show all the different species that existed till now us) greater beneficial than the 6 thousand years biblical literalists have faith. So no, i do no longer think of that Genesis is the reality. even though that's an incredible tale!
