Biblical times and modern times are two completely different times. Back then, people were given the Word from God, and he declared homosexuality, fornication, and adultery, among other things, sinful in nature. Modern days, we just don't care anymore. We've got a massive spread of STD's, unmarried mothers in poverty, HIV and AIDS (which is thought to be caused by human intercourse with monkeys, then spread by homosexuality) and nobody cares to be married anymore because, what's the point? Anyone can have sex and get pregnant, and those that DO marry more often than not end up divorced or cheated on or the one having the affair. We got little girls dressed up like hoochie mamas thanks to mom and dad, and sexual predators everywhere.
Sorry, venting, but I hope you get my point.
Ok, so you can complain about Christians and other religious groups being anti-gay, and rant about religion being to blame, but if you were to look at it from a scientific point of view, would there be such things as AIDS and STD's if modesty and monogamy were preserved? Just some food for thought.

Let start with the basis for Christian believers: 1 Cor 10:23-24 with emphasis on 24.

It is in the First Five Books of Moses do we find the commands forbidding same sex relationships. It has nothing to do with homosexuals, but with relationships. So your source would be Judaism, Christianity's parent religion.

Cite all the verses you like, but you must return to 1 Cor 10:23-24. Your verses should talk about relationships, not individuals; they should be explicit about the punishment for engaging in that type of behavior. The commandments are only binding on Jews.

Judaic laws are in contrast to other cultures, for example, the Greeks believed in homo, hetero, bi sexual relationships. And it appears that the US will follow suit. However, until it does, the homosexual (nothing mentioned about bisexual) will continue be politicize.

I think it's the homophobes who use anything they can get their hands on in order to justify their hatred of a group. These are the types of people that make religions look like crap

"The word homophobia means fear of, aversion to, or discrimination against homosexuality or homosexuals. It can also mean hatred of and disparagement of homosexual people, their lifestyles, their sexual behaviors, or cultures, and is generally used to assert bigotry.[1] Opposition to same-sex activism on religious, moral, or political grounds may also be pejoratively referred to as homophobia."

The article continues...

"Internalized homophobia (or ego-dystonic homophobia) usually refers to homophobia as a prejudice carried by homosexuals against themselves and others like them. It includes a discomfort with or disapproval of one's own sexual orientation.

Such a situation may cause extreme repression of homosexual desires. In other cases, a conscious internal struggle may occur for some time, often pitting deeply held religious or social beliefs against strong emotional desires and needs. This discordance often causes clinical depression, and the unusually high suicide rate among homosexual teenagers may be partly attributed to this phenomenon (the opinions and actions of others may also be a factor)."

So... YEAH according to Wikipedia we are all homosexuals and homophobia is caused by oppressive religious struggles against our own real desire to ... well... you get the point.

Wikipedia apparently thinks that everyone should be existing in the natural state of "gay" and that homophobia is caused by religion or society in general.

And you know it's true because we read it on Wikipedia.

Yeah. Right?

The Christian religion doesn't teach homophobia. It teaches to hate the sin not the sinner. So yeah all Christians SHOULD be against the SIN of homosexuality, which is a sexual ACT not a person.

Homophobes generally join other likeminded people, whether it be religious affiliation or hockey and darts nite group. The ignorant tend to congregate with others who refuse to learn.

If your a homophobe, then you hate homosexuals that then makes you not a real chistian. Christians represent Jesus now and Jesus didn'y hate anyone no matter what sin they were commiting.

Nice avatar. I have always been fascinated with the "all seeing eye".

That has been used for over 1500 years now. Interesting history behind it.
