Ive got 221 points , and thats excessive, only someone locked in a darkened room and taped to a chair earning points to receive food would be so sad.

I don't get it.. they must be online constantly. How can they possible give helpful answers to anything if they've never left their desk... Im hoping that these people have cheated their way to the top. I don't know about psychological help, but definetely in need of a life and some friends.....

It's taken over half a year to get to this point (no pun!).

We tend to do all of our rates and votes per day. We answer a lot of questions and try to answer well which earns best answers and thumbs-up ratings. We've done this consistently for most of our time here.

Also, in the early days, the rules were a bit different. Some of the early people earned points for asking questions (I missed out on that. I think the others did, too.). Level 5 and above used to have unlimited rates and votes each day. That changed months ago to the current limits.

So, the daily commitment, the amount of time spent on the site, the effort to answer well, and some of the early rules, have helped put us where we are.

Hopefully I've answered this well enough that I'll get my cookie for the day and my 5 minute walk outside! :-)

Looking at those people who are in the top 20 it seems they must provide an answer a minute for seven hours a day! So, if they are that dedicated to something like this for that long, then yes they probably do!

The prize for 100,000 points is a vacation away from Yahoo! Answers so don't worry too much. There will be more time for favorite tv shows and more sleep at night. :)

They're obviously spending way too much time online and not enough time in the real world. I feel sorry for them, i've only got 161 points and i'm happy with that
