Religions....tricky little buggers, cos mostly they preach love, but rarely do they preach full acceptance. It's very often love tinged with "as long as you come along with us". And of course the concept of other religions as sinful or erroneous just further complicates matters, cos it's hard to love people whose faith flies in the face of your own. This seems to be why faith has always had a tendency to focus the mind on the differences between people, rather than the commonalities. I reckon religions would have a far more positive effect if they were absolutely banned from preaching to people outside the faith. Then you'd have to win converts by the strength of your character and your expressed personality - the more positive an impact you have, the more impressive you are as an advocate of that faith. Might tip the balance from hate to love, what do you think?

I think we are totally discombobulated. When religion becomes the cause of war, there is something so wrong. These Gods we worship surely must look at us like we are crazy. I sort of picture them talking to each other saying, "Did you tell them to fight us?" "No I have no idea where they got that from?!" "Why are they fighting?"

Everyong should be free to choose their own path. But ultimately, don't all paths lead to the same "Hope?" So why are we fighting about which path is better? Were these different paths created as a form of competition? Ha....I so doubt that was the intent. We're they created to accomodate differences.......and it is the lesson of tolerance that people have missed. Tolerating differences rather hating someone for being different.

It's rather hard to say how this all happened. History tells us that wars over religion have been going on for eons. Which of course leads us back this question. Do we have enought to make us hate.......but not enough to make us love one another.

Each religion would swear they love the next and merely want to show them the right path. But our reactions to this......are not always that of gratitude but deference. And therefore.....hate insues.

I can't answer your question. I can merely say.......that once the apocolypse had taken place, we will be able to start over new and perhaps get it right the second time around. **fingers crossed**

The problem is not the religion, it's the people who follow that religion. Also, the people who hate that religion. Such as over zealous and hateful christians, and fun making athiests.

Religion itself never did anything good for anyone. What everyone needs is Jesus Christ in their lives. Religion is a tool of Satan that he uses to try to divide us and make us hate. Don't see religion, seek Christ. Christ is Love!

Imagine ♥
Imagine there’s no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace

Sometimes... to imagine is all we can do.

We would all love to live in a world with no religion, if we truly understood the complications is causes.

I dont think that it is whether we have enough religion, just whether we have enough love, understanding, compassion, patience etc to love each other more... in my opinion, there are only 2 reasons for war;- religion and greed. But thats just my opinion. :)

Religions don't make you hate, the twisted words of other people in those religions do.

You have hit it right on the head. Religion over love.

Which would you rather have, I pick Love and Faith they work together. People kill over religion.

Well... by that same logic do we have just enough gamma radiation to kill each other, but not enough to give each other super-powers? Works of fiction would like to make you believe that's how it works, but those works of fiction are incorrect. On both counts.
