Well honey I haven't been clean for the rest of my life but only cuz (Thank the Lord) it's not over yet. If it's what they really want and have a support system to help stay sober it is totally possible. Not saying it won't be the hardest thing ever to do but it can be done.

Yes, from what I have read. I read that a lot of US Vietnam Vets were on heroin but upon their return to the States, they just let it go. They did not think of themselves as heroin addicts. I think the mental picture one has of oneself is important. Good luck!!

Its possible to get clean and stay that way one day at a time. Those days can add up.
Narcotics Anonymous is a good place to start.

but once an addict always at risk of returning to an addict so it requires huge will power and a great support network plus removal from any sources of temptation
