If your hair is as thick as it seems, and if you like to keep it wavy here's what I do...
After washing my hair I keep it wrapped in a towel, turban style (because that helps keep the waves looking nice). When it's damp (usually by the time I finish doing my makeup) I take off the towel, keep my head upsidedown and I squirt about a quarter-sized amount of handcream in my hands and rub between both my hands. Then I lightly rub some of the hand cream on the ends of my hair. Then I put my hair between both hands and run my hand down my hair over and over till the hand cream is absorbed into my hair. Once that's done I'll re-wrap my hair with the towel and go get dressed. Once I'm dressed and ready I'll take the towel off again. By this time my hair is mostly dry and any extra hand lotion has been absorbed by the towel. I use the blow dryer on low and slowly dry the rest of the water while tousling my hair to keep my waves looking shiny. It seems complicated, but it's a lot easier to do then it is to read. Your hair looks like you used a million different products but it's soooo soft to the touch you won't believe that it's not loaded with mousse and crap!

One thing I learned in cosmotology school is this, do some kind of conditioning treatments a few times a week. I do one about 4 or 5 times a week. I like kiwi's deep conditioning masque. And all conditioning treatments work best if you put it in your hair, put a hot towel around it, and leave it in for 5-30 mins (depending on how bad it is, and how long it says). And for when you are styling, there are plenty of glossy sprays out there. I personally recomment CHI silk infusion. Its not a spray, you just put a VERY SMALL amount in your hand, and work it through damp hair, then blow dry and style. It will make your hair soft and put some shine in it. Very well worth it. Just dont over do it, b/c that causes a greasy effect. Hope everything helps. PS~ Be sure and keep up with regular trims to cut down on split ends, that makes a huge difference!!! :)

I too have brown thick hair and I usea nexxus product. None of the stores here carry it but my hairstylist orders it for me. It works GREAT, my hair is so shiny and soft it's amazing. It's nexxus Phyto Organics the shampoo is Hydruss and the conditioner is Nectaress. It is not anymore expensive than the others you would get in a salon. If you have a regular hairstylist I bet she would order it for you. they like to keep their customers happy. Just make sure to tip her good if she does this for you. I swear on this shampoo, it is designed to give silky and shiny hair.

WHen you take a shower, leave the conditioner in for a whole 5 minutes. No less and no more. Never take baths and always stay in the shower for only 20 minutes. That is the max time your body can absorb all the moisture. More and it makes oyur hair, nails and skin dry.

leave in conditioner, hot oil treatments or a.k.a deep conditioners. if you have a hood blow dry sit underneath it for 20 minutes. if you don't have one, use a hot wet towel. if you don't see steam coming off the towel, put it in the microwave and wrap it around your hair for 10 minutes.
