There is a yellow substance in my garden in the morning. This substance is quite a large mass, smells like plant material but looks like some sort of animal threw it up. Any idea's what it could be? It has been there a few times a week all month. Years ago, at another home, had the same thing.

I don't think it is pollen, although it could be fungus. It is quite a large mass as I said, and it looks almost like that insulation foam you spray. (Out of a can for around window.) Best way I can describe it. It is quite dewy in the morning...and we do have coyotes and such here. Great idea's ty all vm and I will take a sample to a garden center.

Sounds like something in the fungus/mushroom category. You are right, it looks like vomit, but if you get dewey nights and moist conditions, that could be it. Going to a garden center with a sample is a good idea.

It sounds to me like Dodder. Is it kinda stringy? If so, it is a parasite and is really bad. They can't grow on their own so they take nutrients from the host plant. I don't know how they get there. In the LA area it grows on the hillsides along the freeways in the brush. There was at one at my(landscaper) client's house on an Ivy Geranium in the ground. I heard that you have to kill/burn it with Nitrogen. I pulled out the plant.

Good luck.

you should take a sample to your local garden store that way they can tell you what it is. I had a tree that had some white spots on it and took some of the leaves to Home Depot and they recommended me some "medicine" for the tree.
