Christians, how do you know that god isn't using Answers to communicate to you? If he can choose any form (and any medium) how do you know you're not posting answers to His questions? Or that he's responding to yours?

How could you know if god was talking to you? Would the voice be out loud or would it be in your head? How could you prove/disprove it was him?

Many of you suppose that you know everything about God. One of you responded "pervs stop asking stupid questions"? (?!) another babbled about angels. More still, some of you claim to know that God has more important things to do. Some claim my question boring, when it is (in fact) legit.

What makes you all so privvy to God's whereabouts, feelings, or perspective on questions? Did you get a memo? How is it you know what's in God's dayplanner?

It really IS okay to say "I don't know" when you encounter a question like this. You still get your points, after all.

I am sincere about my question, and the follow-up about respondent's knowledge of God's "To Do" list.

What consitutes "good" advice that would convince you that god was responding to you? Couldn't He be talking to you in plain language. I mean, most people think he'd be talking with "Thy" and "Thou" and "art", etc.

How can you claim to know that I would know God when I hear him talking to me? How do I know it's not the devil or something?

Could anyone on Answers be a prophet? Who would be the best candidate - a Christian or an Atheist?

first of all God is everywhere...He can do anything he wants to do and say what he wants from any platform he chooses .....but your question makes it seem like the christian would be ashamed of their answers...and why is that ?...they shouldn't be saying anything to you or anyone else that they would not want to say to God....after all He does know all we speak anyway.....
as for you saying how would one know if they are hearing the voice of God or the devil...simple...God says in His word that my children KNOW MY VOICE!!!!!...we through time in prayer are learning to hear and recognize the voice of God and it is very clear and easy once one spends time with the Lord....God talks to us in a lot of different ways....through his word and through others....through the still small voice of our spirit when we are in prayer..these are just a few examples of Him speaking to us.....He is seeing all the answers and questions on this site and I'm sure He is pleased with some and saddened with others.......

God uses Christians because Christians are followers and believers of Jesus Christ and He was God in the flesh.
Jesus Christ died for our sins and on the third day rose from the grave.

You can know if it is God by reading the Holy Bible.
Anything that contradicts the Bible, contradicts the teaching of Jesus and the Apostles as recorded in the Bible is not from God.
That is how you can know when it is not God speaking.

If after reading something in Yahoo Answers or a sermon or a friend talking, if after studying that same topic it in the Bible you find what was posted, what you heard etc. lines up with the teachings of the Bible then it usually is from God.
I say usually because if a message is delivered with hatred or some other bad attitude then regardless of the correct words ....
it might not be from God.

God is the still, small voice. It takes time, prayer, and practice to know what you're hearing is real. I believe that when I'm in prayer and I receive something that I think is an answer, I need to continue praying on that answer, to be sure that it is God and not myself telling me what I want to hear. I think that once you have your answer, or whatever it is God is trying to tell you, you just know. It's probably different for everyone. Also, having bible study with friends helps a lot, because then you have input from different people's experiences in life. I believe there are prophets among us, though not in the sense that most people think. God granted each of us different gifts: prophecy, teaching, intercession, the apostle; Those are in the new testament, I don't have my bible with me at the moment so I can't give you the exact reference. Good luck with your question :)

This is a big question, of which there are many facets. However, God talks to me through His Word the Bible. A Christian is someone who has the Holy Spirit indwelt in them, and therefore are sensitive to His voice. He speaks through the Bible, as we read it, making the particular passage come alive.

This verse explains it Its in Hebrews 4 v 12

"For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."

Another in 2 Timothy 3 v 16-17

"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

God can speak through another person, or circumstance also, but is also backed up by God's Word, the Bible.

Hope this helps!

You asked a bunch of questions, I want to answer them all, to the best I know how, so I'm sorry if this is a long post.

It's hard to know at first if He really was talking. One way you can tell is to check the answers by the Bible. Another way is to pray about it.

Let me just tell you what I would do:
**Pray and ask God if it was Him.
**Listen for His answer.
If I felt like I was getting a "Yes, I am talking to people via Yahoo! Answers" then I would... double check.
**Ask a question only God would know the anwer to (something personal) and see if I got an answer.

I do believe that God can answer us and talk to us anyway He chooses, but I personally believe that He wouldn't make an account on Yahoo! Answers. Now I believe He COULD, but I don't think He WOULD. I'll tell you why:
**God mainly uses the Bible to talk to us.
**God also speaks through Christians. Even though it gets hard to tell who is a real christian on this site.

I believe that if God wanted HIS answer to a question on here He could get it here. But to do that He wouldn't have to make a personal account. If believers (Christians) would open up themselves to God, I believe, He would use them.

I'm not goin to claim to always be right, or to have "Divine thoughts" placed in my head everytime I post. But I do always try to post what I think honors God. And what the Bible says.

The best way to find out if God is behind an answer, is to check out what the Bible says. See if scripture backs it up.

God does answer our questions, but not always in the way we think He does.

You ask poignant questions......

How do we know if it is God, or The fallen angel, as one is truth the other is a lie, but which is which......

here is an example:-

There are 2 doors, one leads to freedom the other to death , there is 1 guard on each door, one tells the truth the other always lies. You can ask only 1 question....

What question would you ask ?

Answer :- you would say " If I spoke to the other guard and asked him, which door leads to freedom, which door would he point to ?"

And which ever door he points to, choose the opposite. Because the one telling the truth will point to the door that the liar would choose ( so choose the opposite ) the liar would point to the wrong door (so choose the opposite.) Therefore you will get the life door every time.

So it seems that what ever questions in life you may have, if you ask the right one you'll know if it's God who is is giving the answer.

Everyone has different interpretations as to how they communicate with God, none of them wrong, just unique to them. But as long as you know in your heart you are a good person then you should have no questions.

God is not there to make sure you win the lottery, or not take a child. God does not interfere with our everyday life, he just watches over us and guides us in subtle ways, to be better people.

Take Catholicism as an example ...... It's ok to murder someone as long as you repent, and confess you will get into heaven. But if you take your own life you are damned to hell and not allowed a burial. Where is the logic in that.

Too many religions make up there own rules, and God knows this.... Religion is the cause of so many wars. But I believe God gives us warnings of his anger at us ( Natural disasters) but we are too ignorant to heed his warnings, therefore will eventually wipe ourselves out.

God is our creator, not our nurse maid.

I'd say that it's entirely possible that God would use Yahoo answers to communicate. I'd like to think that He'd use something a little more direct and personal, but if we spend all our time on this site, how else is he supposed to communicate with us?
Unfortunately, communication with God isn't something that can be proved or disproved. revelation/inspiration from God is perhaps the most faith-based issue that we can see. the Branch Davidians in Waco, TX thought that God was talking to them, so do the Pope, the LDS prophet, rabbis, pastors, priests, and that weirdo on the street corner. You've got to learn how to distinguish revelation from your own thought process--if you believe it can happen. But Id' dare say that god will never tell you to do something that you believe to be completely wrong.

The best candidate for a prophet, I believe, would be a former Agnostic. A: If you're a true believer to begin with, not many will change thier minds after hearing you;B: Athiests can't be athiest based on ignorance;in other words you become athiest when you've learned what there is to learn, and then make a decision to disbelieve. So, an agnostic would be best. He/She wasn't sure to begin with, when the "Truth" was revealed.

I Think about pure though all the time, now i am thinking again this time about beautiful thought among all, I will say valuable though, I just which for a moment while i was reading your post question?, That your questioning and rhetoric will ever end, it seams to me, that if the perspectives of your good and positive assumption's were to be real, (and sometimes God could make time out of his busy schedule to talk and answer to his children's in the net) HIM(God), will be very proud of your thinking, and attempts to make this little corner of the earth a better place to be. we should all praise HIM, and ask him, if is possible too do it. in Jesus name. amen.

How do you even know that there is a god? i have never had any reason to believe that there is a god. i think that we only have this idea of god to make us feel more secure so that when everything is crazy at least someone is there to keep things on the right track. i personally don't like to live my life by a convenient lie. now everyone says that you need to have blind faith in order to truly believe in god but my view is that even if there is a god we shouldn't waste time worshiping god. we should spend our time enjoying life! =)
so stop worrying if god is on answers.
