PLEASE THINK before you respond. What motivates you to slap "Jesus saves" or "Jesus is the Savior" in response to ANY question about ANYTHING in the world? Browsing around this site I see these responses plopped onto some of the most totally unrelated questions, it boggles the mind. We get it, you are a Christian. Does that help anyone else to know that you believe "Jesus Saves" is a good response to "What should I do about school?" or "How do I get rid of termites?"

A lot of people on this site are religious, many non-christian. Not all of them feel the need to plaster their beliefs across everything they can. Why do you? (Non-plasterers, why do you think they do?)

Some people are just eager to get the word out. They are young and they will learn when the time is right and when to stay quiet. No I do not believe that questions like the ones that you have brought up are the right time to bring up religeous beliefs. Unless trying to provide hope (the school question).I am a Christian and I am completely persuaded in my beliefs but I am not going to push my religion on others, if they want to hear about the Lord then I am more than willing to talk about him.

Hei, this a "Religion and Spirituality" section...
And this is an open discussion thing...

If you do not care to be saved, why I should care about that?
I am personally guilty of saying often Jesus loves you. And sometime in very peculiar places. God wants us everywhere. What is bad about "Jesus saves" or "God loves you". I say that because maybe you did not know that Jesus loves you. And He is not wanting us to be religious. He wants us to have a personal relationship with Him.

I am gladly called Jesus freak. Today I was called an idiot and ill-something I do not even remember. And what is funny, those comments came from fellow Christians when they rated my recent best answer. I was totally surprised. Oftentimes I give long answers. If I did for points, I would be a able to answer many short answersand make more points. I answer to these mainly for the Kingdom purposes, I only pray that I could do better job. And sometimes I want to add my thought to the questions, and if I see that somebody has already covered the subject well, I only add what differs from other answers.

We are here on the cybespace for the different reasons. I am here to serve God, but once in a while I let my hair down and branch out, just to get reaction. Unfortunately, without voice...people can take my humor or tease totally different way that it was intended. I like people, I am a people person...but sometimes I understand why hate would be easier choice, of course if I let it be.

So, now you know what motiaves me. Maybe I care more about your afterlife than you do. Jesus loves you!

I am a Baha'i, and I try not to plaster, although I think I have made it known. But I restrict my religious comments to questions in the religious section only.

I understand what you are saying. I'm not sure why people do that, but I read a quote somewhere that said "The greatest gift you can give someone is the purity of your intentions." I think before you judge these other people, consider if they feel they are trying to help you or if they are just being mean, and then base your decision on that information.

Best wishes.

Hi, I am an ordained minister but I wouldn,t call myself a Jesus freak. Every one has the choice as to what they believe. If we put this in the modern idiom don,t you get fed up with the adverts on TV proclaiming this product as the best. Advertising is part and parcel of our lives. If people wish to go around and proclaim thier love of God or Jesus that is thier perogative. Others prefer to keep thier beliefs to themselves. There are many sectarian beliefs that take thier beliefs too far and are the wreckers of marriages and families. The most important thing is to be yourself because however religious or non religious you are none of us are without sin. Personally I don't believe in hell unless it is rebirth and this planet, now that would be hell.

Blessings

Father Graham

What motivates them? They think by instilling "their values" hehe, that is "FAMILY VALUES" they can literally and physically SAVE THE WORLD for this life and the next. But heres the problem. Most of them are going out and cheating on their wives and husbands, not paying their taxes (hey everyone does it) and a thousand other things. Its this hypocrisy (such as people like the Falwells, Roberts, the Pope, Swaggart, etc) all living lavish lifestyles while their "congregation" of little old ladies send in $20 a month eating dog food. Christ literally lived on the street, living where he was INVITED. WWJD? THEY DON'T WANT TO KNOW. They'd rather have cook available at 2 a.m. thank you.

If you saw someone about to walk out onto the road in front of a bus, I am sure you would do everything in your power to stop them from the danger they were about to put themselves in. So it is with us as Christians. If you do not have a relationship with the Lord Jesus, then you are lost in your sin, and heading for destruction, and every Christian should be motivated to telling people how they can have a relationship with the living Lord Jesus, and be assured of eternal life with Him.

the thing that motivates us is a hope that there is something better for us out there. I know hardly anyone is listening to the Christians. But guess what. non-Christian plaster their beliefs in front of us everyday! every opinion you give shows something about what you believe. I can't make anyone believe what i do...but it is my job to tell the truth. My God is big enough to save me from anything. are the gods of sex, money, or physical beauty enough to save you?

Why think outside the context of a church or a bible? Why think when you've got verses to copy and paste, or fishy bumperstickers on your minivan?

What motivates them is a frenzied promise that if they give up all they can and sacrifice all they can, they will be "rewarded" for doing so.

Fear, pain, sacrifice, hope, and reward. That's what drives them.

They plaster their beliefs all over almost as a rallying call. To reinforce each other's beliefs. Without the reinforcements, they may have to think for themselves.

People do this to try and help other people, because as Christians, one thing we are supposed to do is share the gift God gave us through Jesus, If it wouldn't be for the Lord, we would have no protection from Satan, who controls the world through our sins, whether we want to realize it or not, and be in denial, I'll tell you one thing, if you choose denial, when your time comes and you finally realize that you should of been looking at this world through a different light, you don't get to change your mind or rescule, its up to you now to make a choice, whether you want to live in good, or evil.
When people tell you these things they are only doing what God wants us to do.

Jesus goes beyond religion. It's a way of life, people respecting one another, sharing with each another. Obviously, there will always be those who will try to take advantage in Jesus' name, in turn producing a negative stereotypical view of the good that He's done.

Note: I truly believe that we all have something to learn from Jesus' teachings, whether you accept him or not...
