My best friend "dated" this guy and now they're split up. Admittedly, she’s a bit of a whore so I’m really glad that they aren’t together anymore because he was getting the raw end of the deal. Only he and I have become good friends and still talk and hang out. So she never told him that she has herpes and swears that he was "safe" because she never had a break out, which is such BS. I feel like I have to tell him but I don't really know how. I know she is going to FREAK if I do because he is going to loose his bloody mind. Sigh..... can't I just call the Health Department or something and stay out of the middle of this?

You could put the pressure on your friend so that she discloses the truth to her ex-boyfriend. You could threaten to reveal the truth if she didn't but it would be more ethical if she did because it was a confidence, wasn't it? How good a friend would you be then, if you revealed the truth instead of her? It is difficult because you seem to like her ex-boyfriend and you feel what she has done is wrong but try and push her to do the right thing seems to me the first and logical approach, if you still have any respect for your friendship to her that is. It seems you do otherwise you wouldn't ask.

According to the Health Department, she is suppose to tell him. Tell her that she could go to jail if she does not tell him.

you don't have to tell but you can live with the guilt for the rest of your life. If your really his friend then tell him.
