If you want to lose 5lbs in three months, that's a good goal! Don't get too strict. A little of anything in moderation is okay. For instance, don't eat three burgers with everything, eat one with just ketchup, mustard, pickles, onions, lettuce and tomato. Don't eat a whole bag of chips, just a handful. Cut down the soda from three to one a day. Eat more fruits, veggies, whole grains (whole wheat vs. white bread) and lean protein. But, don't deprive yourself. Just be reasonable about the "treats". If you want a fudgesicle, have one. Don't have three.

Good luck!!

You don't have to be too strict. Increasing your activity level will go a long way toward helping you reach your goal and will help maintain the muscle you have. Walking, pilates, swimming, jogging and working out in a gym are all great ways to increase your activity level.
