I have serious dark circle, which no matter how hard I try to hide won't hide. I have tried all kinds of solutions. I have tried all kinds of creams; paid $110 once. I have tried makeup, but it never matches with my skin. I can't ever find my skin color foundation or concealor. I have never ever used drugs or got drunk. I think I eat healthy too. I sleep around 12:00 pm or sometimes around 2-3 am when I have to study and the house is quite. My mom has them too. I am Asian, so I am not that dark or white. I don't go out b/c of my dark circles, I feel ashamed, embarrassed, I feel looked down upon. I feel as if people are starring at my dark circles. It has killed my self-esteem. I am always feeling ugly. But I am not letting it affect my education. Can some give me any advice? And I would like to know what you think when you see someone with serious dark circles.

I feel bad b/c people do stare and I wonder may be I look that bad that they might be thinking she is so ugly or she might be taking drugs.

I have serious dark circles but I have learned to conceal them. use a light (really light... I'm mexican and I use the palest concealer) just in the corner of your eyes. Smudge it out through the top eye and under eye (it will look weird, but trust me), then use an airbrush foundation (believe it or not, I use that airbrush pantyhose on my face). Apply powder (I use baby powder). Then come back over your inner eye with a light (I actually used a powdered opalecense white) and smudge that out as well. Add mascara and a lip gloss and go. It's a lot of make up, but it pops my eyes out and you cant tell how damn tired I am.
Also, mix foundations until you find your color. Try them out on your cheekbones to match, not the wrist. My wrist is darker than my face.
Also, tea bags are your friend! The caffine in them will help de-puff the eyes and it will make your eyes look less red.
If you need any more help, email me kresenda_keith@hotmail.com

I have the exact problem my mother has the same disorder, she is able to cover it up with make up but me I also feel ashamed going out in public it feels like people just constantly stare at you I mean I tried gettin rid of this I bought many creams used them as directed tried sleeping early and sleeping in never worked.. I did some research on it, there is a disease known as Pofiria. It is a lack of iron deficaincy that causes the blood flow in your eyes veins to slow, my mother actaully has a medical band for Pofiria. I tried looking up the on the internet about it but nothing relates I am not american so I always wondered if it was that. In my searches I read articles about Vampire disease wich freaks me out because it is really true.. The wierd thing about it is that only My mother and I have it I have a sister and she shows no signs of it my brother doesnt even show signs of it, as well as my dad. If you want my email is tyronn@sbcglobal.net you can contact me there if you have any answer to my question, at least I know I am not the only person with this disorder

I don't think much of anything because I too have seriously dark circles under my eyes.
According to my Dr they are part allergy related and [part hereditary (my dad has them) and there isn't a whole lot I can do but cover them up.
I know what you mean about people bugging about it. I hate it when someone will ask "who beat you up?"
When I am sick or am lacking sleep, I *litterally* look like someone punched me in the eyes without make-up on. Mary Kay yellow concealer helps better than anything I have ever used. I just put a little dab under my foundation. (and it isn't nearly as expensive as some of the other things you have tried)

I think, "Gee, that girl has dark circles just like me." I remember when I was 8 years old, I would sneak my sisters concealer because I was so self conscious of my dark circles. Over the years (I am now 38) I have tried MANY concealers and now I realize that the problem was not that the concealers were not working, I was applying them wrong. Make sure to PAT them on, not rub them on. Also make sure you use a under eye moisturizer at all times. Good Luck, and know that you're not alone!!

I honestly don't think there is anything wrong with dark circles. I've seen plenty people with them and I've just thought that they must not get that much sleep. Seeing as you go to bed pretty late, I can understand the dark circles. It's not a bad thing, I get them too when I don't get much sleep. You must be a hard worker! Just don't let the dark circles bring you down. I'm sure you look fine!

I have dark circles too. They are worse if I don't get a restful night sleep or if I go to bed too late. Plus if my blood pressure goes up or I'm worrying too much.
I do not pay attention to them. I used to be fussy about self, but no more. I love me just as I am.
I do not judge other people by physical appearance either. A long time ago, I realized that the way someone LOOKS has absolutely no bearing on character. I try to get to know others before I apply label to them.

the general idea is tht a person with dark circles does not get sufficient sleep.. im asian too (indian) n a very close friend of mine has this problem too though her diet/sleep etc evrythin is fine (like u).. her doctor recommended her some under-eye creams although they did not help much..
if the under-eye creams dont work well on u too, try cucumber.. if tht doesnt help too, its most proably genetic.. u said ur mom has them too.. mayb they are genetic.. if they are, u cant do much abt them..
dont worry sweety, go 2 a good store n find foundation/concealers tht go well with ur skin n blend in without any trace.. it may take ur time, but it will b worth it..
dont spend unnecessary money on expensive treatments coz i guess its not gonna change..
d best thing tht u can do is boost ur confident so high tht all this doesnt matter 2 u.. i hav a parrot nose but i hardly let it bother me..
trust me...
i applaud u 4 not giving up on ur studies..
it wud make me happy n u happier if u go out without any hesitation.. enhance ur other talents n features..
go out n hav a blast!!
take care sweety!

I have serious dark circles. Alot of them are caused by thin skin under your eyes that show your blood vessels. That's what people see. Go to a board certified dermatologist and ask them if there are any treatments for you. I don't feel ugly and I've had them all my life. You're not ugly either, you're just around people who are so insecure, they have to find fault with others. They are not worth your time. Good people are staring at you because you're probably very pretty.

This is a common problem for me too ! I bought Reviva Under- Eye Dark Circle Serum and that is the only one that works ! I saw it on 20/20 and John Stossel praised it for the cost effective great job it does ! My circles after the first day reduced and in one week I looked 15 years younger ! Just get this - it works !!!!!
No, I do not work for the company !

I think you have gotten some very good advise and some not so good, some didn't bother to read what you wrote. I don't have this particular problem, but at 48 I have others. Remember sometimes our flaws are very noticeable to us, but not to others, some probably have never noticed what you see. Keep trying different concealers and make-up, don't give up. Please don't let this keep you a hermit, get out and have fun, it's all on the inside that matters. You sound like a very bright young lady, I think it would be a joy to be around you. I also admire you for your schooling, that is very important.
