If you convert to another religion, are you turning your back to your god? I'm just asking, i'm not converting to anything.

if you turned to a different religion that worshiped another god then yes, you would be a traitor to your god. I am not tho.

That's a complicated question, there are monotheistic religions out there and there are religions that have many gods. If you remain in a basic judeo christian faith and switch denominations. Maybe not. But if you leave Buddha for Allah, yeah you'ld be turning your back on your old god. As an example of course.

We all worship the same God. Ultimately, religious or spiritual, we are all aiming for the same thing. Some have different interpretations of Him and therefor they worship Him differently, following different paths.

If you beleive that God is a tribal God who only loves one tribe. then yes. If you feel That A God that created the universe could not possibly be that childish and petty. then No.

If you abandon your faith, you have become Apostate.

Now the question is, was your faith the correct one?
The bible says that everlasting life is attained through gaining knowledge of the Almighty and his son Jesus.
If your religion has proven itself to be wrong, which is worse?
Staying in a stagnent faith or changing to a faith that you believe to be correct.
