I am looking for a logical reason there must be a creator without an answer from scripture or a threat that I will go to "hell" if I don't believe.

The fact that Romans and Greeks had hundreds of "gods" that we now realize were explanations for things that we have the technology to explain has given me enough reason to think that the contemporary "god" is simply a modern explanation to questions which has as yet been left unanswered.

Again, I am NOT looking for scripture. If you can't provide me with an answer that doesn't say "Because thats what the bible says," or "Because the HAS to be," PLEASE do not answer.

There is no logical reason for a creator. We, this life on this planet is a pure accident, and probably happened somewhere else, and will again. The simple laws of probability. Evolution is real, and a fact, not a theory. We evolved, and we are related to every other living thing on this planet. Life has begun, and failed several times on this planet, and there is no guarantee that it will continue -- indeed, it is an absolute fact, that life on this planet will end again, either by global warming, the sun becoming a red giant, or a strike by an asteroid. Today, tomorrow, no? But the future is long, very Loooooonnnnnnnng. Enjoy the use of the $18.00 worth of compounds that make you, you. You get a tad more than 80 years on average -- a mere flutter of an eyelash in time. Have a great time, because when the last spark of your consciousness is over, you again become that $18.00 worth of chemicals. You contain some molecules that made up Beethoven, and Mozart, and even some of your molecules passed thru the kidney of a whale. (But Elvis hasn't been dead long enough for you to have any that he had -- at least first hand..) So, again, your question... There is no logical reason for one to believe in a creator -- there is no such thing as 'intelligent design'...If a mutation was beneficial, the critter carrying it got to live long enough to pass it on to offspring... if it were bad, the critter died. With enough time, all sorts of trials and errors got tested......

Dear Jiff , i think all the answers u have received made you laugh ... it seems like nobody really understands the question ... or i think no one really KNOWs the answer ... In fact there is a big sincerity in the way you asked the question and the explanations you made ...

My opinion is that we always had proves in the history of humanity that a higher power is making some changes in the course of our lives and of history itself ... Jesus came to earth and that was proved by pagan historians and by the bible .... The words of Jesus changed the face of the earth ... What is told about Jesus and the miracles he did were not a lie .... All the apostles were liars???? all the martyrs for the name of Jesus are liars??
After Jesus we are still having the apparitions of Mary in Lourd France and in Medjegourye in Croatia ... The messages of Mary to the human kind... The healings ... If you really want to know, you have to read about all miracles that are happening now and today and yesterday and you can see with your own eyes ...
If you open your eyes and ears and heart and read the book "new Testament" and evaluate it as TRUE or FALSE ... If you beleive it is TRUE than it will be very easy to understand other things ... Your life will change , because you will be sure ... But never give up even if our answers are not up to the level of your intelligence ... search for God ... talk to priests , to monks , visit monastries .... Open your heart .... But make sure nobody can tell you : "I AM SURE God is the creator come with me to give the physical proof" .... Unless he is God himself ...
God Bless your inquiry..

No matter how much science you bring into creation, you always lead back to the fact that there is a PLAN for live and that how that plan came about and how it all actually started is a mystery.

The story of Adam and Eve is that - a story. It puts a framework to man's understanding of how human life began, but it is likely not a literal history of the first man and woman. There are too many questions.

But the big questions...where did the plan come from? and how and where did it all begin? lead us to believe that God, the creator had a plan for us.

The Old Testament story of Abraham, and the entire New Testament tell us that by loving God, we fit into the plan and will have everlasting life.

The computer screen you are looking at and the computer you are using are an open system, incapable of self continuation or self awareness. If it was suggested to you that billions of years ago, the earth's rotation and the forces of gravity began a process which aligned all of the atoms to form the plastic, to produce the silicon chips and moving parts, and in the course of time it all came together in one place to form your computer, you would laugh me right off of the planet!!

You are in your own existence, a closed system, capable of internal self repair, capable of self awareness and self continuation. Your body and mind are infinitely more complex than the computer you are sitting at, which you not only know exists because an engineer and some machinists created it, but which you believe would not exist without them.

It is inherent knowledge that the natural order of the universe is from order to disorder, or a state of decay, and that is why you believe that a computer could not exist without a creator. How is it you cannot accept that something of infinitely greater complexity (such as yourself) did not have a designer and creator?

If you really want to have a reason to believe in a creator you can do one of two things.
Next time one of Jehovah's Witnesses comes to your door request the book "Is There a Creator Who Cares About You?"

Or you can go to http://www.watchtower.org and request the same book.

It answers questions such asa 'if a Creator exists, what might that One be like? Would a Creator have a personality that relates to our lives? What Is the Origin of Life? If the Creator Cares, Why so Much suffering?

The book has scientific references and if you take the time to read it, you will find an answer to your question. If you are truly looking for the answer to your question, you will read the book and decide for yourself.

Every thing has a beginning and an end. Even mountains wear down and metals erode, Man
animals, plants, fowls and fish, Everything, If
this is fact and it is.Where do all these extremely
complex creatures and organisms come from? Man can not make a tree or stone or even a blade of grass, Nothing in nature evolves from
a lessor form to a greater, Physical law says
the opposite is true, In the Beginning, God said
"Let us (plural) make man in our (plural) image."
A triune God, Father Son and Holy Spirit. Jesus the Son created all things. He came to
Earth 2 thousand years ago, Sent by the Father
To pay for the sins of man and provide a path
for man to be reconciled to God. John 3:16
God gave his only begotten son so that who
believes in Him will have eternal life, For if we
were made in his image we were made fro eternal life as He is. One day we will all stand
before God and be judged, Those who are in
Christ will live in Heaven Those who reject
Chrisy will be condemned, You were given free
will and now you know the truth Take it or leave
it, I for one chose life,

This is all logic...no theology involved or religion as you asked.....

The question is not why, but why not? Sure some believe in a creator to explain life. Others believe in one as the reason for all their problems. They are being punished in a sense. The truth remains though. We are human and have to understand why things are the way they are. So in believing we therefore give meaning. Otherwise we see our lives as an endless circle of life.....we are born, we go to school, get a job, get married, have kids to continue this circle, and then die. We want there to be a higher being so that we can atleast say that there is something to look forward to once we die. Or give us more of a purpose. Otherwise.....life would be absolutely meaningless except to live, consume, repopulate, and eventually destroy the world.....how else would you see it?

I will not give you any biblical answer. It is clear that, that means nothing to you. When you have your mind set against something, what others say means nothing. You have discovered your own truth, but you obviously have no peace in your truth...

We have wind, and can not catch it, but yet it exist... We have air and breath it, dont see it, but we know for a fact it exist. We have the trees, the blue sky, stars, the earth and last but not least human kind... we see all these things but dont know how it came about ....surely the Bible tells us God created all of this, but man has tried to destroy that very fact but saying it was big bang theory,,,well how did that come about... where did the star come from to create the BIG BANG.. ???? Of course we have cloning going on to even say we created ourselves,,, but honestly do u see any successful clones,,, we grow the trees from the earth,,,so earth must be a living thing huh???? So many questions,,so many answers,,, but the truth is THERE IS INDEED A CREATOR,,,,,,and it aint MAN....

I would not use the word to you that you "should" believe in God. Because I respect each person's right to believe what they choose to believe.

From the way you worded your question, it seems that you are fully aware of the consequence of rejecting Jesus Christ, according to the bible.

If you cannot see the hand of God as you stand in nature....I don't think anything I could say would sway your opinion. For me, that is the time I most surely feel His presence.

If this has never been your experience, if you've never experienced a presence that you would consider God in your entire life....then I would understand why you do not believe in a "creator".

Do you really think that everything just happened to blow up and just appear? Do you think that the special placement of the Earth with respect to the sun is just a coincidence? If the Earth was 1 million miles closer to the sun, it would be a huge desert and hotter than Death Valley everywhere all year long. If it was 1 million miles further away from the sun, it would be a huge glacier everywhere all year long and definitely colder than you could ever imagine.
How can you explain that without having a higher being to put it all together?
