this one guy told me that red heads are typically mean and hot tempered. he told me he wouldnt go out with red heads. does that make me ugly. i look almost exactly like my avatar except mu hair is longer.

When I first clicked the question, I intended to reply, "No, but seeking validation from strangers on the internet might make say something about you! :D "
But, I see you have a deeper reason for asking. Hopefully, you can get over his rudeness & not allow one ignoramus to have such an impact on your self-esteem. How is he an ignoramus? Let me count the ways:
1. He is terribly shallow, passing judgement not even on an entire person's looks, but on one small attribute.
2. He clearly does not know how to handle a woman, or is getting his information on women from questionable sources.
3. He is apparently not prepared to take any responsibility for the way others respond to him. So, if you had said anything to him about his ignorance, he would probalby have dismissed it as 'redhead hot temper,' instead of learning something so he wouldn't make the same mistakes again.
4. He has no regard for the feelings of others. He's trying to tell you that 'people like you' are mean & hot-tempered?? And making you wonder whether you're ugly? Pathetic.
Anyway, since we all have our superficial moments; allow me to end on my own: I've always had a thing for redheads, and I know I'm not alone. Just more proof that you have no reason to be insecure simply due to your hair color. (I also think glasses are hot, so your avatar is just the kind of computer-generated representation that my avatar would like!) :P

Having red hair does not make you unlikable! Red hair is gorgeous and I wish I had red hair. Whatever guy told you that is a shallow jerk. Just because you have red hair does not mean you are mean, hot tempered, or ugly. Hair has absolutely nothing to do with personality and no guy should not go out with you just because he doesn't like the color of your hair. You are probably very pretty and you should be proud to be who you are.

No, red hair does not make you ugly. A bad, mean, spoilt personality would make you ugly. I have met some red headed men and women in my life and not one of those i met were ugly or overly hot tempered.On a lighter note. I am 50 years old and the two things in life i have never had is a red headed or a blonde woman.

not at all! red hair is unique and usually very beautiful...i am a brunette and have dyed my hair red before and really loved it. don't let what one ignorant guy says determine how you feel about yourself and your hair color. there are plenty of men out there who will love you regardless of being a redhead, and might even love you more for it! redheads being labeled as mean and hot tempered is a really silly stereotype that has been fueled by some media portrayl of them, but it is certainly not true and is a VAST generalizations. Hair color does not determine personality! good luck!

Having red hair certainly does NOT make you ugly! On the contrary, many women pay good money to achieve the same beautiful hair color that you had the good fortune to be born with.
As for the boy who won't date red-heads... you are better off without him or anyone else so shallow in your life.

I think that red hair is very pretty and spicy! I had red hair once and I loved it! Have you ever considered maybe getting some blonde highlights like Lindsay Lohan in Freaky Friday? I know lots of guys that like redheads, I think it's just how you accent it that makes in great!

Red heads are beautiful, despite the "fiery temper" rep that some people have given them. I am a blonde, and everyday someone tells me a dumb blonde joke. Don't worry about it, if you look like your avatar youre lovely. Alot of men looooooove redheads...good luck!

Oh No!! Sweetie....I've known a few red heads in my life....and everyone of them were as kind and sweet and gentle tempered as anyone else.
Red heads are absolutely the cutest especially if you have a few freckles...not to mention coloration of certain other body parts.

Stereotypically, what the guy told you is true. But everybody is different so it doesn't mean that you are. Being a redhead doesn't make you ugly, it just adds to your uniqueness. don't worry about what other people think so much. i know its hard and thats what everybody tells everybody. but seriously, if you don't worry so much about what other people think than life would be better. if you personally think something, then you can go ahead and do whatever.
in a nutshell, don't worry so much. your fine the way you are.
