A healthy body will grow healthy hair. Try to improve your general state of health by doing the following:
Get enough sleep at night (usually 7-8 hours per night)
Drink enough water. 6-8 8oz cups per day should do it. Coffee, tea and soda (regular and diet) do not count and should be eliminated or strictly modified.
Get some exercise every day to improve circulation. Good blood flow will improve hair health.
Eat a healthy diet. Eliminate 'white' foods as much as possible. By this I mean white sugar and white flour products.
Start eating lots of fresh fruits, vegetables and whole grains.
Eat enough good quality protein; Lean red meat, chicken, fish (the best!) tofu, beans, peanut butter and eggs.
Take a good quality multi- vitamin every day.
Try typing 'how to get healthy hair' into your browser for good books that will go into more detail.
Good luck, you can have gorgeous hair by following these tips!

how many times have you dyed it.. or cut it what not..

everytime you dye your hair.. them chemical seeps into your roots which makes it harder for the hair to come out healthy...

everytime you flatten (straightener) your hair with a flat iron.. it makes it just as hard...

my sister used to always dye her hair and cut it.. that her hair was always split and it was hard for her to let it grow becuase it would look gross... so she ended up going to a salon to see if they can fix it.. they made it worse...

me myself, I AM THE ONLY PERSON who touches my hair.. I have never been to a salon or professional or anything like that... I have only dyed my hair like twice...

my advice...

1.
to make your hair grow.. every 2 weeks cut at least just an inch of hair so that you have "new" ends.. when hair is exposed to fresh air after being cut.. it basically screams that it is cold and grows faster to make it warmer (retarded analogy, but it's the best way to explain) the follicles are exposed and they try every way to get back to their comfort level..

2.
try not to dye your hair all the time.. the more you dye the more damaged the hair becomes because of the chemicals...

3. don't always wear your hair up or back.. pulling your hair up causes the follicles to break from the root and your hair will grow slower and become a little thinner.. wearing your hair up when it is wet is a big NO NO too.. when the hair is wet it's longer.. you pull it back... and it dries.. you are breaking and damaging the hair.. and it's not able to reform it's once true shape

treat your hair like an egg.. the harder you are.. the more it is likely to break.. the more gentle you are.. the easier it is to take care of it...

It's going to sound weird, but you can use a horse shampoo. It's called "Mane & Tail," and they sell it at almost every Walmart, usually in the pet department. Horse breeders use it to make their horses' hair grow faster and look more shiny, (human hair is the same as horse hair). It is very inexpensive and it comes in a large bottle. I would not recommend using the conditioner, because my hair would always feel awful after I used it. Make sure you use one though!!

Also, if you are looking to take vitamins for heathly hair, this website lists some helpful info:

I hope this helps you!

Massaging the scalp stimulates hair growth. Also, try taking a multivitamin everyday to ensure that you are getting all the nutrients for healthy, long hair.

I know this may sound silly, but, brushing it everyday 100 times makes it more healthy and grow faster. Also, get it trimmed often.
