So that he doesn't escape or try to escape to breed with females dogs. Nuetering also helps with behavior problems such as agression.

Because that way your dog will become easier to handle, you won't risk the fact that he will escape to find females, and still how sure are you that he won't by accident make a female dog pregnant? And don't make me mention the lag humping....very annoying. All that can be avoided with the castration of your dog, with no major affects on your dog's life or personality, the only thing you will have to look out for is that he doesn't get too lazy or too overweight.I think the responsible thing to do is to neuter your dog.

Unless he's a quadruple amputee, he has access to female dogs. When I was a kid we had a red dog with white sock feet and a white tip on his tail. That dog was a horn-dog and he had a nose that could smell a ***** in heat from 5 miles away. Several times a year he would disappear for a few days and run off to a town a few miles away. After a few generations every dog in that town had red fur, white stockings, and a white tip on its tail. They were all different body sizes, types, and shapes but there was not question he was the father of every single dog in that town. That was 30 years ago. A couple of years ago I was driving through that town and busted out laughing. I saw, still after all these years, a dog with red fur, white socks, and a white tip on its tail.

Dogs that aren't neutered will go looking for female dogs and are more agressive. Dangerous for him if he gets hit by a car on the way to find one and for both of you if he bites someone. It's much better to be safe than sorry because there's no reason not to neuter unless you want to breed.

About 85-90% of dogs hit by cars are male dogs who have "escaped" in search of females in heat. Do your dog a favor and remove the temptation to roam. Also you remove his risk of testicular cancer, and his desire to "mark" territory will diminish as well (NO more stopping at every mailbox on your daily walks, NO more housebreaking problems involving your favorite couch or chair, etc).
The neutered male dog just plain and simple makes a better pet.

Unless your male dog is going to be used for stud it is a good idea to have him neutered. If he isn't neutered he my run away when he smells a female dog who is in heat and you could possibly lose him.

if he ever escapes he might go to a female dog or when you bring your dog somewhere he might have access to a female and it could just make him feel better some dogs act wierd sometimes when they havent been neutered.

If you do not neuter your dog by a certain age they will start marking their territory....which means they will do this in the house if they have no access to outside, making your house smell of urine! It can really start to stink after awhile.

Almost all dogs that are not neutered develop enlarged prostrates and can becomce cancerous.
It is better for his health to be neutered.
