You didn't say what year or which motor. The 2.8 has adjustable valves, in fact, you need to adjust them occasionally. The 2.9 has typical valves that don't need adjusting, they also have some slight ticks that may not even be a valve.

aftermarket companies MUST exist on the net someplace. one place for my Blazer wanted $500 for one..it was niiice tho'.
