God created us in his own image. God is a spirit. He gave us the Holy Spirit which dwells within us. It is not our human bodies which are in his image. Why then could our bodies not have evoulved through the apes?

Evolution and creation do co-exist. The question should be why people don't seem to agree with that statement.

I'm not sure that the theory that we came from apes can coexist with creation as it seems to go against what God told us. But the fact that there was a "creation" seems pretty obvious to the normal thinking person and evolution has been proven on a micro level (and makes perfect sense). So put the two together and you start to get a bigger picture.

I think most people seem to think the two are opposites instead of complimentary. And your question shows that obviously you are thinking with a much broader picture in mind than simply one or the other. I like that!

The funny part of this whole "debate" is the fact that none of it really matters anyway. In the end, it is faith in Christ that matters! Not faith in science or creation or any of that.

May God bless you!

the theory of Evolution is in direct contradiction to what is said in the Bible. besides, there is actaually no scientific proof of evolution, they just have a bunch of missing links. in fact there is so much that doesn't connect it's a wonder scientists enorse this belief at all. Darwins original idea was nothing like the evolution of today, it was more like adaptation. Adaptation can be proven to exist but that is what some may call micro evolution, and it is only within a single speacies. The evolution we generally think of is macroevolution which is bogus. Also, as things chang over time they get worse not better, wouldn't people get youger if this wasn't the case/ Evolutionology is basically a religion in itself and therefore cannot coexist with creationism.

The Bible talks about God creating humans, and He said his Creation was good. If it was good, why would it need to evolve? Also, DNA. DNA tests have proven humans could not have evolved on a large scale. Mutations can happen on a small, localized scale, but not in massive, global, evolution of an entire species. However, evolution has become the accepted beliefe, so people just ignore the facts, keep researching it, and beliving it.

Because you would have had writings and books by now about people witnessing evolution as it happens through the years. Humans have not evolved in better beings for thousands of years, so how does evolution know when to stop and how does everyone say you stop evolving when you become a human?

The evidence for evolution is and has been interpreted from a Philosophical and ideological Bias, The answers given by adherents to Evolution here in R&S is proof of the bias and agenda, Atheism has to have an alternate explanation—other than a Creator—for how the universe and life came into existence.
Darwin once identified himself as a Christian but as a result of some tragedies that took place in his life, he later renounced the Christian faith and the existence of God. Evolution was invented by an atheist.
What is sad is that Christians are falling into this Trap and trying to fit evolution into the Bible (Theistic Evolution) thinking they can make it fit.
Lee Stroble in his video listed below “ The Case for the Creator” stated (5 min. 28 sec into the video) The Case for a Creator

That “There is no way you can Harmonize Neo Darwinism with Christianity, I could never understand Christians who would say “ Well I believe in God yet I believe in Evolution as well” You see Darwin’s idea about the development of life led to his theory that modern science now generally defines as an undirected process completely devoid of any purpose or plan,”. Now how could God direct an undirected process? How could God have purpose in a plan behind a system that has no plan and no purpose? It just does not make sense.
It didn’t make sense to me in 1966 and it doesn’t make sense to me now.
The Apostle Paul wrote to His Son Timothy stating that “ in 2 Timothy 4:3-4 “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, [because] they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn [their] ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.”

Those Christians who believe in evolution have no idea how that effects their theology.

The two theories on how man came to be on Earth don't coexist in large part due to creationists who believe only in the Bible. They tend to reject science or any contradictions to what is written in the Bible. Unfortunately there are evolutionists who are closed minded as well. There are gaps in the Theory of Evolution. I personally believe in evolution as it is based in science where creationists don't often offer much of an intelligent argument for their view.

According to Intelligent Design advocates, they co-exist in perfect harmony. However, creationists won't accept the evolution half of I.D.; and evolutionists won't accept the creation half of I.D. Does anybody actually buy their SH**?

God created everything according to its own Kind, man, animals, birds etc. Living things like animals may have to evolve to adapt to their surroundings, but they don't change species.

It's fact that man has evolved. Not up for discussion really, fact is fact. Every generation gets taller, and supposedly smarter, which would explain why we aren't as barbaric as we use to be. I would think that's why Esau was so hairy, he wasn't as evolved as his brother.
