Why do you think you could have cancer?

I know someone fairly young who started to feel really ill and whose stomach swelled up enormously but was so worried about what it might be and whether he could cope that he couldn't face going to the Drs. After a short time when things were still getting worse rather than better and he still wasn't going to the drs, a friend took him to see the Dr and he got treatment. He had to have chemo but he now looks really healthy, enjoying life with his family.

It is best to find out what is wrong as soon as possible. What ever it is, the Dr will tell you, the sooner they diagnose the problem and start treament the better some things aren't too bad if caught early.

All the best.

I don't know which type of cancer we're talking about here but you response is not at all unreasonable in that situation. People are naturally afraid and denial often delays presentation to a doctor.
You really need to rationalise this though or you may miss the chance to cure the cancer IF there even IS one (remember you don't know that yet do you?).
Weigh it up like this:
1 in 3 of us will get cancer at some point in our life.
Despite that, the vast majority of cancers are infact treatable and often the fear of the treatment or the possibility of incurable cancer are unwarranted.
Denial will not change the physicality if it really IS there and you may be surprised by how much CAN be done to help or even cure you today.
I treat cancers on an almost daily basis and I'm pleased to say, with excellent results. I am not different to my colleagues, I am just the same as any other doctor.
I think hiding from your fears will not make them go away and may lead to even worse realisation if you find out too late that you were right!
Get checked out by a doctor sooner rather than later, they aren't out to hurt you and may even reassure you.
I can't emphasize it more than that, get it sorted while you are able to, and if you're wrong and you don't have cance then you lose nothing by doing this but gain invaluable peace of mind.
Good luck

The first thing to realise that the one enevitable thing about life is death. It comes to us all. So why worry about it.

Hey but cheer up there are only a few types of cancer are untreatable. Most can be cured. The sooner you see a doctor the better it will be. Take a friend with you.

God Bless

It is very hard to be told you have cancer. i was told 2 years ago that i have leukemia. But you are stronger than you think. You will have to adjust to the diagnosis if you do have cancer.
But you can do more than you think you can do. Just make sure to bring someone with you to the doctor's office. Someone you can trust and that wants to help you through this. You never know it might not even be cancer. Good Luck! God Bless!

don't know if you are male of female. However I would sugguest you see a doctor as soon as possable. I have cancer, it is remission right now, but if I had not seen the doctor when I did I probably would not be here now. Sience is a wonderful thing and they are making great progress in the eradication of some cancers. there is hope. see your doctor and God Bless You

Don't torture yourself with what if's. Wait and see what the Doctors say and you can take it from there.
Don't forget that you won't ever need to cope alone, there is so much support out there for people diagnosed with cancer and these options will be discussed with you by your oncologist. Please, don't worry until you have something to worry for.
I wish you well.

Don't be afraid babe,

You owe it to yourself to find out. There are lots of treatments out there to reduce and in some cases get rid of the cancer.

Just think..... If you have and something could be done about it, and you don't go to GP till it's too late, how would you feel then ?

Bite the bullet, take someone as moral support and you could even find out there's nothing wrong with you.

Please please please, go to your GP I beg you !!!!!!!!
