I'm not in favor of abolishing religion but I am in favor of embracing religion(s).
Too many times in today's society we believe there has to be "a" religion. Well, even in a small town there are several religions. The 3000 populace town I grew up had 11 different denominations. I didn't ditz someone for belonging to a different congregation. In fact, I wanted to know why there were so many in the first place.
Instead of abolishing, I think we should tolerate. Dare to learn about a different religion. Dare to find the commonalities instead of just learning to regurgitate the differences.
I took the time to do a short study of Islam. Granted, there are differences but I think I have a better understanding of those who practice Islam and do not agree with the fundamentalist/militant devotees who do shame to the peaceful aspect of their religion.
You're right about brainwashing free souls. I would rather see people take the time to expose themselves to all kinds of religions before they settle in one to devote their life. Following a path just because your parents followed that path is not a wise decision.
But back to embracing religion. Like it or not, our country was founded on religious ideals. Instead of trying to erase that past, we should acknowledge it. If someday there would be more Buddhists than Christians, then I'd expect laws to be passed with more Buddhist ideals. However, when my child learns about history, I fully expect her to learn that it was Christian men and women who forged this land into a large nation. On a tangent, I'd also like her to know about the religion of the natives as this too is an important part of our history.
There really is isn't a problem about religion but there is a problem with religious intolerance.

OK, you say you are open minded, but then you say, in essence, religion causes fights and wars, and makes people brainless.
I will agree that many wars have been fought for what people believed in. It is impossible to say what our lives would be like if any one of those had not happened.
You state, "we don't even know if there is a god".
No one will be able to prove it to you, but that wouldn't make it any less true. There is; however, a great deal of evidence that everything was created. And if everything was created, then there must be a creator. You may say you do not believe things were created. You may believe fully in the "theory" of evolution. If so then I will ask...Where did the stuff that made the first living thing come from? And where did that come from? I could ask that all the way back to the beginning, and then I would ask, where did that come from?
I'm sorry, I do not like to give very long answers, so I'll finish by asking you to consider this...If those who do not believe there is a God are right, why worry about anything? But if those who believe are right, what would that mean to you?

I have an idea, if we abolish religion, why not abolish Homosexuality as well? In my opionon, homosexuality brings indifference between man kind, we fight against each other to prove that the God we beleive in is the God that we should believe to. Homsexuality makes people numbed and also brainwashed free souls.

I don't think that will ever happen. Even if there is a law that is passed abolishing religion, it would never work. People would still have their own religious beliefs. If they were prevented from worshipping publicly, they would do so in the privacy of their own homes. You see examples throughout history, mainly of a single religion being the accepted one. The other beliefs continue, but in secret only to come out at a later, safer time.
I certainly wouldn't want religion abolished. This country was founded on the premise that we would have freedom of religion. I strongly believe that. I am free to believe what I will. You are free to believe what you will. If your beliefs are different than mine, so be it.

I wish we could abolish atheists!!! I believe in God with my whole heart. I wondered at the magnitude of the world around me when I was about five years old. I saw rainbows, how the sky bows down far away to meet the earth, I marveled at the flowers, trees and all living things, and I just knew in my heart that something or someone very great, indeed, had made all of this. My Bible just confirmed what I already knew. God wants His followers to bring everyone they can into His Heaven--which will mean that their souls will have eternal life. I researched religions, and came back to my Bible. The more I study, the more sense it makes to get to know God and Jesus on a personal level.

Religion is not inherently evil.
But people will do horribly evil things in the name of religion. But it is not religions fault, this would happen with or without religion. People at their core are horribly insecure. The only thing it takes to turn a normal person into a crazed killing machine is to attack their belief systems, say what they belief is wrong and they will kill you, it is that simple.
In the military, a large part of Boot Camp is breaking the soldiers down so they can build them back up with new beliefs, that way they will run into battle without ever questioning why. Pimps and Cult leaders do the exact same thing they break people down to build them back up in "their image" as it were, and suddenly you have women who will sell their bodies but not keep the profits and people who will kill them selves for there wacko leader.
People are very insecure, they have to believe that the things they have believed there whole lives is right and everything else is wrong, so they will kill themselves and others to keep that belief.

Aint go'na happen... but from a Christian Faith pov it is a good idea. Those of the true Christian Faith do not practice "religion".
religon is mans attempt to control the god, or gods, he has made up. And then dictate to every one else whatever that god or gods suposadly decrees...
The true Christian Faith can not be imposed upon any one. It would be in direct oposition to God to do so. ALL, must come to God individualy and personaly, one-to-one. And there is only one way to to that... The Way God has Proscribed...not man doctrin or dogma.
All mankiknd has Free Will. And that Free Will includes the option to reject God . I dont personaly recomend that option but C'est la'vi

There have been wars without religion being involved, so abolishing religion will not solve wars.
If you really believe that everything just happened perfectly without a higher being in charge of it all, then God be with you.

I dont think we can abolished religion because it's one of the thing that people need in life. Majority of the people need a belief system so they can eaither go to a temple or church or mas or whatever to prey. When they are down or just feeling sad, they can turn to their own Gods. Religon is something that help people not to do bad things. Having faith helps people to recover from anguished in life.

Since prehistory, man has found a deep need to search for what is above and beyond him. To do so is as natural as eating & sleeping. It is immoral and evil people who use religion as a cause for their so-called righteous causes. This does not please an infinite god. Bad choices made by men should not be blamed for religious conflicts in history. God does not initiate these negative actions. He should not be blamed for the poor choices of finite man.
