I was thinking something like a nice border or words, but not making the picture look like I did it on Paint.

Photoshop

MS Digital Image Suite

Corel Graphic Suite

I actually use all three listed here; depends on what I want to accomplish. Each have their stronger points and weaknesses.

Photoshop is a great BUT expensive software program to use when editing programmes.

Opt for a cheaper software program say.... MS Publisher - that's a great tool that makes not only borders and words but also pictures, cards, banners etc.

Good luck finding one!

There are a whole lot of them you can buy. One of them that is fairly inexpensive is Picture It! The most expensive I know of is PhotoShop professional edition. Go to the store and you will find many. You might even have one now in your printer or on your hard drive. Check it out.

If you want to spend a lot of money, you can pick up a copy of photoshop, or just try to pirate a copy. But if you want a free, open-source program that is just as good as photoshop, I recommend the program The GIMP, which you can download off of www.gimp.org

Consider Photo Impact. You can download a trial of it and see if you like it before you buy. It is a lot easier to use than Photo Shop but still has plenty of power and can do some neat stuff.

I have heard that Adobe photoshop is nice. Expensive too. Maybe there is a trial version or shareware that is almost as good by now.
