I appreciate what we do have.
But we also have the illusion of freedom.
I love my country, but it's just as shady as some of the rest.

No!!!Its not free for the poor and less priviledged. The lines between the rich and the poor are stretched further daily. The concept of innocent until proven guilty is a farce. And the United States has more people per capita locked up in prisons mostly for nonviolent offenses than any other country on the planet. Its hypocritical and a bully to the rest of the world. You wouldnt want to "share" my experience with America. Its sad that people that live behind picket fences can be so blind and indifferent to the injustice around them. And Im not so sure that the feds arent monitoring this site at this very moment, looking for "terrorists"or at least trying to label someone as one because of something they said taken out of context.Freedoms and liberties are erroding in America at such an alarming rate. And now, this administration has done more to damage civil liberties than at any other time in history. The United States is not what it professes to be.A land formed by slaveowners claiming all men are free.Sorry.Give me a break.

I think the current state of things are good however they could be better. If it were up to the ACLU we would be an antireligion liberaly hippie comunist country run by a Big brother organization (the ACLU) or as I like to call it American comunist lawyers union. The people who complain about the government listening in probably have something to hide, fyi the governmant has recorded phone conversations for years, usually listening for certain key words. i'd rather have someone hear my private conversation that really wouldn't incriminate me than have a terrorist plot things over the phone and have no one care. besides, the government is only conserned with the big threats, they don't vcare if you are meeting your friends somewhere unless it involves massive illegal acivities. Ah Motherland

Yes I do! God Bless America and God Bless George Bush! He is an awesome President and deserves more respect than he receives. We are at war. Americans need to support and defend the war against terror. Anything less is intolerable. Remember 9/11. Remember Sadam toying with the world about having or not having weapons of mass destruction. I am proud to be an American and I am proud to support President George Bush!

Retired Air Force, here, and, Yes Ma'am! We appreciate all the FREEDOM that We ALL enjoy, thanks to us disabled VETERANS, and our comrades who DIED for those FREEDOMS!
Well, I also know that all the Republicans Do!
As do many of the Libertarians, who want to get some more Freedom... for everybody!
But, I do see them Democrats and Liberal pansies all crapping their pants about how they don't think you have gave to THEM enough power and control over the tax money!
But, overall, I am pleased that the Boomers kept it together, after the Depression crowd won it, and that most of the GenXers are trying to keep it!

I do. But I am worried. Organizations like the ACLU, NOW, and various Humanist organizations are working to undermine those freedoms.
