Is it a mouse?

Is the cat an indoor one? My indoor cat did that when she was younger. She would dig in my trash can and pull out the Q-tips, then meow as she walked through the house with them in her mouth and put them under the rug in the living room. She also did that with pens and pencils.

Cats haven't been as domesticated as long as dogs have, so even the indoor ones still retain some wild instincts. I think when a big cat in the wild catches something, they make noise to announce that they are bringing food to the group.

You are lucky its "a fluffy thing", this is usually done with live mice.

tricky to say with cats, explanations range from a present for you or teaching you what you should be catching.

Personally, I think its the second, cats do take live prey to thier kittens to show them what to hunt, sometimes maiming it and releasing it for the kitten to catch.

My friend's cat used to bring in pinecones, pile them up and carry one around meowing in the same way.
Cats are really wierd anyway, who knows why they do the things they do?All of the previous answers could be right. She may be doing it to make you wonder why she's doing it!
If only they could speak English!!!

A friend's cat does the same thing. It usually means he wants attention.

my cats used to try this, i'm undecided why. yet she did have some kittens and a pair of them died, my mum mentioned it replaced into like she replaced into donning around a kitten in her mouth, style of a convenience for those she misplaced. yet additionally my different cat used to try this to boot, yet she never had kittens, yet enjoyed to play fetch with the sock.

Its probably a mouse, small bird, small rabbit etc. Because you are their owner, and love you, they bring a present to you (usually the one that feeds them or gives them cuddles). My cats occasionally bring in live ones or put them in the toilet (what is thats about?!?!) Its completely normal, dont worry.

My cats do that often, sometimes with the strangest things (q-tips). I'd also say that they feel they caught something, want to share and be praised.

It's about hunting and her mousie is her prey. She's meowing with pride, so be sure to praise her and act impressed!
