Only if you want your hair to break off. Heat doesn't go well with perms that's why hot curlers break your hair off. If it's been 3 to 4 months sense you've had a perm do a touch up. If not use JAM conditioning gel on your roots. It holds and it's not hard on your hair. Brush your hair after appling Jam and it'll look like a perm without the burn. GOD bless

YOU CAN'T REALLY STRAIGHTEN UNLESS YOU WANT YOUR HAIR IN A MESSY STATE...YOUR HAIR IS ALREADY DRY FROM THE PERM AND IF YOU GO AND PUT MORE CHEMICALS ON YOUR HAIR TO STRAIGHTEN IT IT IS GOING TO GET MUCH MORE DRY...I SUGGEST THAT YOU TRY WASHING YOUR HAIR WITH DISH SOAP A FEW TIMES ,...IT WILL HELP MAKE THE PERM FALL SOME SO IT WON;T BE SO CURLY...BUT IT'S YOUR HAIR AND YOU CAN READ ALL OF THESE ANSWERS AND PICK THE ONE YOU THINK IS THIS BEST...BUT I HOPE YOU HAVE GOOD LUCK....

that kind of defeats the purpose of getting the perm in the first place, but if you straighten your hair while its permed then the perm will slowly start to go away!

Yeah, you can chemically have your hair straightened - but it takes a lot out of the hair. I had a perm a while back and I had my hair straightened - it took a while for my hair to get back to normal.

You Can still straighten your hair with a straightener if you want to. But you have to be careful because you may damage your hair more. If i were you I'd use some type hair oil or spray so that it can be protected a little more, and then straighten it with a straightener.

Yes...with a blow dryer or straightening iron. However, your perm wont last as long. You need to be sure to use the right product while doing it too or else it will turn out fuzzy. You can also have it done chemicaly....but be prepared....it will fry your hair.
