First - Superman became Clark Kent, not the other way around.
Second - Superman did not choose to become who he was, he was born that way.
Third - His stated goal is not to save the earth, he came to uphold "Truth, Justice, and the American Way". Upholding those will not necessarily save the Earth.
Fourth - In the original Superman, he was sent from Krypton to avoid his own destruction, and happened upon Earth. He wasn't sent to it intentionally.
Five - In several cases, Superman fulfills his own self-interests rather than save the Earth. Do you think hanging around Metropolis to keep an eye on Louis Lane helps people in India when the sign falls on them?
Six - If you want to choose Superman as your savior or icon, go for it. You could pick worse. Just don't hit me when you jump off a building trying to fly.

For some reason, contained in the 'seventy 8 action picture, they placed the "S" in, which made little experience, by using the reality that Kryptonian writing became meant to be completely diverse than the roman alphabet. on the time, the action picture became way off, so a options as DC Universe continuity became worried. although, that action picture had an outstanding effect contained in the revamping of Superman in '86. Even nevertheless, the "S" got here even as he became Superman, no longer something from back in Krypton.

Okay I know where you are and what you are saying to me. I know you are comparing what you believe to be the same kind of fairy tale or fictional character of superman with the Lord Jesus Christ. Trying to tell a tale in a parable like the Lord did to help his followers understand his teachings better is not going to work when you speak of God and a comic book character. Not in the USA anyway.
If you will stop being so defensive for a moment and give our way of thought a moment of your time, you will see a large difference in the two. superman is a fake, everyone knows he is a fake, everyone believes none of the fictional characters attributes nor his lineage.
Everyone also believes in a higher power. Not all religions call It the same name. But all religions except atheitstism believe in a creator and all have a story to tell us to help us understand it and believe it better.
God does not care if you want to believe in superman, He is God, You are the one who must go to Him, friend, not He to you.
He will not seek you out unless you ask Him to come. So you see, superman didn't have that kind of power over anything does he? His only power comes from his being stronger than we are.
God's power comes from us allowing Him to have strength and power over us.
Superman is but a bit of ink on a bit of paper the rest is in your imagination. God is real. You don't believe me? I dare you to ask Him to come and see you, and if He does you write me an e-mail and tell me. If He doesn't write me an e-mail and tell me.
It won't change my beliefs, but it might make you see mine a little better.

If you seriously believe that if you think whether or not Jor-El sent Superman to Earth is going to hurt your chances of salvation, I'd say you have bigger problems than that!

Yes. Superman is only a comic book character. Superman has NOTHING to do with salvation. Believe in God and Jesus Christ is the only way.

The Bible says and I quote:
"And then Jor-El sent his only son downwards to protect and save the damned human kind."
So that means that if you do not believe then you will be sent to Kryptonite Hell. There's no war to be fougth, I'm right and your wrong.
