Pineapple jello with coconut rum makes great "pina colada" shots! Raspberry and lemon would both be good with vodka.

Hands down, vodka matches ANY fruit flavor. Rum is great with orange and red jello. If you want clear all you have to do is make some gelatin (plain) that you can get at any grocery store. The alcohol will flavor it, maybe put a green grape in the middle??? Sounds like fun.

For the white You can use Knox gelatine
use 4 envelopes Knox
buy 2-12 oz cans frozen lemonade (not pink lemonade)
Heat up the 2 cans frozen concentrate (don't add water)
stir in Knox
stir in 1 cup alcohol (vodka)
stir everything very well
if you pour the jello into ice cube trays you can lay out a flag on a tray. Everyone loves it!
for the red and blue just use vodka

Berry Vodka would go well with the Raspberry or Berry Blue. Plain Vodka with the Lemon. One of my favorite Jell-0 Shots is orange jello with peach schnaaps, or pineapple jello with coconut malibu, or green apple jello with apple pucker and vodka. OK, so that was more than one favorite, but why should one have to choose. Enjoy!

Oh, for heaven's sake. New traditions for 4th of July? Just put vodka in everything... no real taste once you put it in jello... and if you're aiming for the right colors of Jello, use Cherry, Berry Blue, and Pineapple (mixed with some Coco Lopez Cream of Coconut) If you want to get fancy, layer your Jell-O shots... each one is red, white and blue... or if it's for a party, line up shot glasses like a flag. Just a thought.
Jell-O shots is a 3oz box of Jell-O, 6oz water, 6oz vodka. Any other liquor is going to just be nasty. Don't drink too much, keep heat in mind and drink plenty of water while you're shooting, and do not drive or dive into a pool or mess with fireworks while under the influence.
Have a safe holiday :)

I always use vodka. Not the expensive kind either, since you aren't exactly savoring the flavor.
Another refreshing 4th of July tip: Get a watermelon cut a hole in the top (with the melon on it's side, not on the end) open a bottle of your favorite liquor or vodka, rum, etc... and pour it in the melon. Let it sit for the day (inside or in the refrigerator), and cut it when it gets real hot. Refreshing and inbibing

There is a line of Schnapps called "Pucker". They come in a variety of flavors, but I have found that the best are Raspberry Pucker w/ raspberry jello and Island Blue Pucker w/ pineapple or lime jello.

I've always used vodka. If you get a good brand of Vodka you can barely taste it in the jello shots.

Oh.. fun!
You could layer them as well if you want to get really fancy. I had a friend that did that one year.. It was really good.
She actually made long island ice tea jello shots.. Red-white rum, Lemon - gin, and blueberry-vodka. that were great!

If you use vodka in all of them, the flavor of the jello won't get messed up by the alcohol.
